Well if you are going to use the Pro bowl as some kind of gauge to tell how well players can play, we need a RB bad. Peterson sucked.

I don't think the stats per say are valid;however, Ponder has done little to earn the job this year.

Not to mention he didn't even try and suit for the play off game. I want to see them bring in a FA

or draft competition for Ponder, at the least.

And if he was actually voted into the Pro Bowl legitimately that means that October thru November stink-up wouldn't have happened, in which case I wouldn't be complaining about Ponder in the first place. But in any case if Ponder was in the Pro Bowl and put up the impressive numbers you stated, that would be more of an indicator that Ponder is playing well than a reflection on anyone else, since Ponder has been the one playing questionably this season not Rudolph. And Larry Fitzgerald displayed to all of us this year that even an elite WR cannot carry a truly crappy QB.

Kyle showed he was a top tight end this season, yet when he had different QB's throwing to him, his yardage went through the roof. And Rudolph wasn't wide open or anything, he was covered, but these strong passes went up and Kyle went up to grab them because he utilizes his height and reach effectively (which isn't a given considering how many tall WR's and TE's there are) The biggest problem is Ponder's passes lack any strength, conviction, authority, or confidence in them. He seemed on the way from the 49er game where we built our winning streak, but then he hit the skids again a few weeks later. He showed us some things in December and was at least able to not lose the games and did a very good job in the season ender. But he needs to be a lot more confident in his throws and be a lot more consistent. Because what Drew Brees, Eli Manning, and Russell Wilson showed is when the QB does these things, Rudolph will do his part. There's no reason Rudolph can't be a 1,000 yard TE every year. Now our QB has to do his part and I hope Ponder was watching this Pro Bowl and feels the same way.
I think that your Ponder disdain has caused you to be some what dilusional. 53 receptions and nearly 500 yards, 9 touchdowns and a trip to the Pro Bowl playing on a team with no decent wideouts that is predominantly a running team and you blame Ponder for him not doing better. What did you think to yourself when Manning threw that crappy pass "AT" Rudolph that was returned for a pick 6. Rudoplh was catching everything in sight. Manning did manage to toss him a TD while standing back in the backfield with ten minutes to throw the ball.
There was not one pass thrown to Rudolph in the Pro Bowl than any other starting QB on any team could not have made (except of course Ponder)

Keep in mind also that since there is no blitzing in the Pro Bowl, Rudolph was primarily matched up against Tamba Hali and Justin Houston while he was on the field. Both play OLB in a 3-4 scheme, and made it to the pro bowl based on their pass rush ability, not their coverage ability.

It's also rumored that coaches gameplan to give certain players more targets, mainly players who have made their first appearance.

I think anyone jumping to the conclusion that Ponder is a problem because Rudolph went off in this game is not understanding the context of Rudolph's numbers.

I'm angry too. Kyle should have done better, at least 200 yards and 3 td's.

Seriously you can't judge anything from the pro bowl. It's like playing madden and thinking it's real life
