seeing his downfield throws last game, id say he has plenty of skill to do so. he doesnt zip it like rodgers but places it with touch, just need to get chemistry between him and our pathetic WRs outside of harvin.

I like Webb. Better than I like Ponder. But I agree that switching QB's now is pretty much a losing proposition. Unless Ponder gets injured. Seriously, whenever Webb comes into a game where the opposition prepared for Ponder, he just destroys the other team. Maybe someone can put something into Ponder's water at halftime.
I don't wish for an injury, but it's the only way Webb should see the field. Unless we are giving up on Ponder for good.

That does seem to be the case but also it seems to be true that when a team has a week to prepare for Webb he flounders at least as bad as CP . I know that Webb is the second coming people will say " what about the Eagles game " that is is high-water mark I am afraid , let me pose it this way , if the coaches believed that Webb had " IT " would they have drafted CP and or signed McNabb?

And he even failed at that twice last game.

Stronger arm than Ponder
Knows how to use the pump fake, unlike Ponder
More elusive than Ponder
Faster than Ponder
More decisive than Ponder
Not a chicken like Ponder.
Simply more dangerous than Ponder in every meaningful way.

Definitely more zip on his passes. Man I forgot how fast he can run. Damn. This guy is way underrated IMO.

Then we should use him as the Niners use Kapaernick. I think we should get Webb some playing time, because he is a dynamic athlete who brings a new dimension to the game, but I am sorry, I think that if he was our full time starter, you would find out why he is our backup.

Nope, not now. Ponder needs to show that he can come back and be the player he was the first part of the season. The Vikes are still in this, to change qb's now makes no sense.

What if he plays poorly against the Seahawks... you give him another week? What if he stinks it up in the next game? At that point, our playoff hopes would be very dim. What then?

They keep playing him, keep working with him, keep developing him for the rest of the season. At that point, they evaluate him along with everyone else and if the team doesn't believe he's their guy, they move on. Inserting Joe Webb into the lineup isn't going to be the difference between the Vikes winning the Super Bowl or failing to get there.

Webb is no RG3. I like the guy but to put him at qb was a mistake in my opinion. You have to stick with Ponder until he alone is the reason you are not wining games. Right now that is not the case. ponders slump is directly related to poor line play.

Sure, but Ponder is no RG3, either.
They wouldn't have kept Webb over Rosencopter if they didn't think he had upside as a QB... why not have a good look at him? The kid is a hell of an athlete.

Yeah, why not. Put him in for a couple drives a game to mix things up and make us not as predictable. He's fun to watch and can run some awesome trick plays.

To me that sounds like a team desperate to win with no confidence in either qb. Not a good situation.

If it works, does it really matter what it looks like? Are we afraid of bruising Ponder's ego?
