One player I'd like us to explore in free agency is Jeron Johnson, backup SS from Seattle. I think he could be a solid starter in this league.
He's a special teams standout as well.

See if the above link works. I stole that from a guy on another forum. He literally has everything imaginable in their when it comes to roster and cap space.

I updated the OP, adding in the camp fodder that we signed since the end of the regular season. The total cap numbers and cap space have also been updated. It's so hard to say for sure at this time of year, since we don't have an absolute number for what the cap will be increased to, and additionally all these new guys coming and going obviously messes with things a bit. But as far as I can tell, after removing Felton - he opted out of his contract - we're sitting close to $12 million in cap space, if the projection of $142 is accurate. Factor in about $6 million that has to be set aside for rookies, and we're somewhere around $6-7 million in usable space.
We can cut Charlie Johnson and Matt Cassel without incurring any dead money, so those would be 100% savings. Greenway is another player that we could cut to make more room, with minimal dead money.

I hope we go after Byron Maxwell in free agency, we definitely need an upgrade at CB.

I agree 100%!! If we don't get him, I want Trae Waynes in the draft. I'm not really sold on any of the WR's in this draft. I say we go mostly defense in the draft. With AD back, I don't think we need much help on offense(an O-Lineman at the most)

Never saw him leaving Arizona in the first place. Good for him and Arizona.

Still hoping Michael Johnson might get cut in TB. The vikings will be frontrunners to sign him and he'd be a big upgrade over Robison.

Brian Peters - LB - Vikings
Vikings signed LB Brian Peters.
Peters, 6'3/218, spent the last two seasons in the CFL leading the Saskatchewan Roughriders in tackles. He's the second CFL player the Vikings have signed already this offseason, in addition to CB Jalil Carter.
Pro bowl guard could hit market

Depending on price I would be willing to take a chance.

Folks, please, DO NOT start a new thread in Vikings Talk if you see that a player from another team may become available for the Vikings. Post about it in this thread or, if you feel the news/subject deserves it's own thread, start a thread in NFL Talk.
Thank you.

Kinda small and rangy and all those highlights are in space. Almost makes me wonder if he isn't being brought in as a safety prospect.

Peters, 26, is joining his first NFL team after starting off in the Arena Football League following his college career at Northwestern. He has played safety, starting 13 games there for the Wildcats in 2010.
I don't see him being brought in to compete at OLB at a beefed up 230lbs. Evidently he ran a 40 as low as 4.54, 4.6 at his pro day when he was at 215.

Can't hurt to give him a try opposite Harrison and see how he can do.
