Yeah, right. Moth simply asked you not to throw any more BS at him, which you did. You don't know his thoughts and feelings regarding the Vikings better than he does, and there is nothing in Jim's posts that suggests he's championing mediocrity.

I realize it's difficult for some people to understand why a fan might have a point of view more nuanced than "Coach X sucks" but just because I can actually see the good qualities in a coaching staff as well as the bad, that doesn't make me a blind supporter of that coaching staff and it doesn't make me the enemy.

I'm sure others can see some "good" qualities in Frazier as well (likable guy, players support him, he loves what he does, etc.) but when it all boils down....he's not getting the job done. Period. So no matter how many "good" qualities you point out or see, it doesn't help the situation and Frazier will be fired tomorrow.

I don't think this coaching staff has the innovative currencey to win it all.

They are system coaches running systems that they did not design, and the league is passing them by in terms of innovation.

I don't believe the HC has to be the innovative genius as long as he has the sense to hire coordinators who are.

Fraizer is a great HC when it comes to managing the personalities of the team and keeping things flowing.....but, for whatever reason, he has failed to recognize and adjust quickly enough to the fact that this team is way behind philosophically for todays game.


I don't buy for a second that he and Spielman are on the same page about many things....and it shows.


This is ownwerships fault. They don't know the difference between a good coach and a guy who has a knack for being out in front of the pack.

What is "getting the job done"? There are 20 teams not playing next week. Regardless of how they got there, the vikings were a playoff team last season. It was premature to give him a contract extension for that and it will be premature to can him over a bad season.

Funny the difference in the two major Minnesota sports teams regarding their HCs. Gardenhire wins one playoff series in 12 seasons and gets an extension for the Twins. Frazier has a bad year followed by a season in which most agreed they overachieved, and people call for his head.

His record is what's not getting the job done. It was a very smart decision not giving him a contract. He's had two crap years and one "one and done" playoff year. Personally, if Frazier stayed, I wouldn't be upset...but Williams and Musgrave are a MUST-GO. Either way, Frazier is going to be fired tomorrow so I'm not even sure why we're even arguing this point. He's being fired for a reason....not just out of the blue.

There's not going to be anything left of this message board if people keep attacking each other instead of the topic. Personally I hate the "Spielman rocks" .. "Frazier is complete trash" arguments. They are equally obtuse in my opinion, each is somewhere in the middle, just my opinion. That some of my colleagues on this Board refuse to gage in a balanced argument that considers both sides is tremendously disappointing to me. And for any one who wants to post a #### statement that some of us are all about accepting mediocrity, I suggest you read the good fan, bad fan rule again. It is without question that ALL of us want a Super Bowl win SOON! To suggest otherwise is laughable.

I think the fact that Frazier was forced to start a guy currently employed as a wide receiver, on the road, in the playoffs, had a lot to do with them flaming out in the playoffs. That's on management for not having a viable backup to their below average starter. I will agree that the staff needs shaking up, but I don't think anything is definite regarding Frazier, unless you have inside info.

Yeah, it was a tale of two seasons. The vikings were nothing if not entertaining in the final 8 games. Lots of games against playoff contenders and 3 games without their best player still resulted in a strong finish. Glad they battled.

I think the fact that Frazier was forced to start a guy currently employed as a wide receiver, on the road, in the playoffs, had a lot to do with them flaming out in the playoffs. That's on management for not having a viable backup to their below average starter. I will agree that the staff needs shaking up, but I don't think anything is definite regarding Frazier, unless you have inside info.

According to FOX's Jay Glazer, Vikings coach Leslie Frazier will be fired after a Monday meeting with ownership.
Frazier's job has long been in the balance, and the Vikings would be the worst organization in sports if they let Sunday's meaningless finale have any bearing on their coach's status. We should have official word on Frazier's status in less than 24 hours. Dec 29 - 12:24 PM

Yes, we all saw that. Surprisingly, not every report from "a credible source" turns out to be valid. Not saying that won't happen, but you can't speak in certain terms just yet.

Exactly, it's been reported today AD is scheduled to meet with ownership tomorrow to advocate for Frazier's job. My recollection is that ownership met with players before pulling the trigger on firing Childress in year 1 of his extension in 2010. One would think Spielman now GM can make the decision alone, but nothing the Wilfs might do to the contrary would surprise me. Glazer is probably right, but it's not a certainty until announced by the team.
