I meant head coach and Vikings still had a good offensive line with Childress and sucked ever since Childress got fired

I do not get why fans hated Childress, sure, he is a jack #### but Childress won 2 division titles, he was not that bad, Tice and Frazier are much worse than ChildressJ. Re: Trent Williams
I'm not so sure we are willing to pay him over 11 million. I'm not so sure we are willing to extend him for anything close to market value. Should he sign the franchise tag, they may well prefer to move him even less in compensation. They may still decide to rescind the tag, in no case other than a trade was Harris going to get close to him maximum value. The Vikings did wrong by a guy they drafted and developed in this situation, unless time proves you correct, and they sign him to a longterm deal at around 10m a season. I think that's very unlikely to happen.VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 12:00 pmWe value him without any question whatsoever. Are we interested in trading him if we can get good value? We are without any question whatsoever. We are willing to pay him over $11 million this year. We are willing to extend him. We are willing to trade him. The choice is Harris's barring a team making an offer too good for us to turn down. Us not accepting a trade offer for him yet is more evidence that we value him.fiestavike wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 9:11 am
Some fans value him, but the team franchised him and immediately put it out there that they were seeking to trade him. When the teams sniffing around didn't meet the Vikings asking price, only then did we start hearing about negotiations for a longterm deal, followed by the report that they weren't close and he was back on the trading block. If you think this stunt hasn't cost Harris a LOT of guaranteed money on a contract this year, and potentially lots of career earnings over the course of the next few years should he not play as well or get hurt this season, I think you aren't looking at it from his perspective. He has been kinda screwed over by the Vikings. If I was his agent, he wouldn't be playing for the Vikings this year at all because it risks what is likely to be the highest market for his services as an NFL player that he is ever going to see.

Re: Trent Williams
We see it different. First of all if Harris wants the 11 Million for this season he just needs to sign the tag. Risky game the Vikings are playing if they aren't willing to pay it. Second I don't see us rescinding the tag unless a Free Agent comes along that we just can't pass on or we need to do it to facilitate a trade for Williams. We absolutely value Harris. I have zero doubt regarding that. It's a question of how much we value him compared to what we can do with his cap money if he is traded or the Franchise tag is rescinded.fiestavike wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 5:41 pmI'm not so sure we are willing to pay him over 11 million. Re: Trent Williams
Right, its a disagreement about how much they value Harris. It seems evident to me that the applied the franchise tag primarily for the purpose of trying to add an additional 2nd round pick, not primarily because they wanted Harris on the team in 2020. In the process, they have likely cost him millions of dollars. If we agree so far, the next question is just whether or not that is a good way to operate an NFL franchise.VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 5:46 pmWe see it different. Re: Trent Williams
IMO the team is taking a risk to see of they can obtain a reward. A 2nd round pick and not having to pay Harris is probably preferential to keeping Harris, but having to pay him a very lot of money. I'm quite certain that there is a contract structure that the team would love to keep him at. The player and his representation try to get that amount to be as high as possible. The team tries to keep that amount as low as possible. I believe the Vikings would be fine with keeping him this year on the Franchise tag. That is how the collective bargaining agreement that the players negotiated and agreed to works. Harris has his rights within the contract and the team has theirs. I see no problem with it. It's strictly conjecture if this has cost him any money, but if he was a 100% free agent I'm pretty sure he would do better. I think Harris will be OK.fiestavike wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 5:49 pmRight, its a disagreement about how much they value Harris. Re: Trent Williams
Funny this was just asked. Trent has been kinda quiet texting my friend. Dropped a few hints that there is a SLIGHTLY possible deal that may be done before the draft, but that its prob gonna be dome on draft day, it isnprob gonna involve more than 2 other teams and may be a unique outcome.
He did tell him if he knows for sure he will hit him up as soon as he knows it's a done deal, so I may possibly get the text with the deal shortly before its announced.
If I do, and no guarentee I will, but if so dont know whether to ruin it for you guys if let ya know before its announced lol.

On the ExtremeSkins site nobody is talking about the Vikes. Its all Jets and Browns for Trent. I realize that means nothing but nobody there really thinks the Vikes are in play.Dakotavike wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 3:15 pm Anybody heard/seen anything on the Williams rumors recently? There's a guy named Louie Tee that does YouTube live broadcasts about the Team that plays in Washington. He's a really sharp guy and does general NFL as well. He thought the Vikings were one of the teams that makes the most sense to trade with.Bowhunting Viking wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 12:21 pmYes it seems like there has been more media talk about the Jets than anythingFat Stupid Loser wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 12:00 pm
