It's nice that they play hard for him but the biggest problem is the scheme will not change on defense so long as he's here. We've seen this tampa-2 since 2006 and it's simply not working, it's time to go in a new direction.

Atlanta to get the ball back with 1:28 remaining down by 1

I think there are several reasons to have second thoughts about him. That's one of them. Personally, I think the guy can coach. He needs to improve in some areas and the team needs more talent but I really don't think this should be an easy decision for the Vikings.

It's been a long, frustrating season but it says good things about the coaches and players that they turned a 1-7 start into a 5-11-1 finish. They played above .500 in the second half of what was basically a lost year. Unfortunately, all those close losses and late collapses killed them. :(

So long, Metrodome!

Pondering Her Percy wrote: Okay? and what about the other 3 I named?? Also, Patterson and Rhodes started games because the ones above them got injured/had legal troubles....even if that didn't happen...what makes you think their roles would've expanded so quickly?? Also an assumption :D Bottom line is...they wouldn't have gotten the time they did if it wasn't for the injuries and suspensions and who knows how much time they wouldn't have gotten by this time. Then when you add in Cassel, Cole, and Carlson in with it....it makes Frazier look worse and worse.

Umm...I would have to imagine that Rhodes was a better outside CB than Josh Robinson from day 1, even Chris Cook as well. That's not hard to do. Patterson isn't much different....averaging 13 snaps throughout the first 3-4 games?? Come on. Maybe his route running was questionable but they could have easily sent him on reverses and got him the ball in the open field much more than they did. He's a very dangerous/explosive players....coaches don't teach that, it's god-given. So in turn, you find a way to utilize that...not play Joe Webb just as much/more than him. Just not a smart decision. And even Mayock and Kiper said on draft day....he doesn't have to be a great route runner when they have AP in the backfield. He would see a lot of 1 on 1 coverage.

I'm still unsure of why you're defending this coaching staff so much when they are about to get fired tomorrow. They're getting fired for obvious reasons. If they were good coaches, I would imagine we would have better seasons and keep them around. They can't get the job done and they're are many things that back that. Including the underutilization of players like I mentioned above.
Great post

Lol second thoughts? Like his coaching record? His continually blowing leads? I hope the Wilf's don't let the emotion crap get in the way and fire him sooner then TMW.

I don't know if there's good reason to just assume that level of inflexibility on Frazier's part since they've already moved away from the cover 2 quite a bit. He clearly saw some issues with the scheme too. For all we know, he'd be more than willing to change.

Yeah, what the heck, lets give him 3 more years to change. The first 3 wearnt enough.

What we know is that he consistently does too little too late. And that's when he's doing anything at all.

Goodbye Leslie!

Well as DC and HC, he's certainly had his opportunity and chose not to. Too little too late as far as I'm concerned on the very remote chance that he is willing to change. Consider he said this less than two months ago:
“For the most part, our defense is pretty much what Aaron saw in 2008,” Frazier said. “We’ve done some things from year to year against him to add some wrinkles. We also play far less Cover 2 [two deep safeties] than we did in 2008. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, based on what just happened.”
That's five years of, "pretty much the same." Now that he has the pink slip looming he's suddenly flexible? I don't buy it.

I'd rather have Ponder back than Frazier, and it pains me to say that.

Cam has sure come a long way since his rookie career. I thought he, at #1 was a reach, but it looks like it worked for the Panthers. Having a good D helps though.
