Jon Bon Jovi is part of a Toronto-based ownership group that plans to bid on the Bills

"Jon remains passionate in his pursuit of an NFL franchise," were the words of Bon Jovi's publicist. According to the Sun, Bon Jovi's group would relocate the Bills to Toronto. An '80s hair metaler from New Jersey being the front for a group that moved the Bills from Buffalo would be a sad, sordid tale, but the team is locked in to Ralph Wilson Stadium through 2020. The Bills are going to be sold within the next year, but it's not time for fans to panic.

I agree. Its rough when ownership changes, and they have plans to move the team away. Buffalo is the smallest market NFL franchise behind Jacksonville and have been a pretty lousy team since Kelly, Reed, Smith and Thomas all left. So it makes sense that owners wanting to make some money on the team want to take it away, but tradition and fan loyalty should mean something.. I dunno

Smith has had multiple run-ins with police since joining the 49ers in 2011 and becoming one of the franchise’s all-time best pass rushers.
Last September, Smith was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-car accident in San Jose, two days before a game against the Indianapolis Colts. Smith played in that game and then went on a five-week voluntary leave to attend a substance-abuse treatment facility.
Smith is also facing three felony counts of possessing illegal assault rifles, which deputies discovered after a June 2012 party at Smith’s San Jose home. Trump is a noted headline seeker, but is adamant he's not only interested in the Bills, but keeping them in Buffalo. "I'm going to give it a heavy shot," Trump told the Buffalo News. "I would love to do it, and if I can do it I'm keeping it in Buffalo." Trump is the first prospective owner to publicly voice his interest, but a Toronto-based group fronted by rocker Jon Bon Jovi is also believed to be in the mix. Other suitors will emerge in the coming days and months.

There's simply too many teams in New York and Florida. Both Buffalo and Jacksonville need to be moved to a part of the US with a strong football presence but with no team. There's plenty to pick from.

I'd say Nevada and Oregon are obvious choices.

There really aren't that many areas to choose from. Oregon, maybe. The NFL wants to stay out of Nevada, for obvious reasons. Salt Lake City may be viable. But the thing about the west is that population densities are much lower when you get outside of the metro areas. This map of population density shows it pretty clearly:



Just looking at that, I would say that if there _wasn't_ already a team in the western New York area (Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse), then the NFL should get on it ASAP.
