Fair point. The 2 teams I brought up: Bucs...going all in with Brady. Maybe they give us a 2nd and a 3rd. Maybe we give them a 4th and take the 14th overall pick (side question: which of those deals would you rather have w/Bucs?)
Sea...Seems like a Sea move. Their 1st is a late one.
Any other potential suitors? KC for #32 pick?
Yeah, I think a second or a third is best we could probably do for Cook. Probably a 4th is best we can do for Harris. At that point, it becomes more dubious to trade either one, although I'm not sure Harris is going to play for the Vikings this year anyway.
Aren't the Vikings trying to extend Harris?

Go ahead. I dare you.

Reports I've seen indicate the Vikings wanted a 2nd for him, nobody was interested, now the are trying to re-sign him, and apparently the two camps are very far apart.

It looks to me like the Vikings thought someone would value Harris significantly more than they do, but it appears that hasn't been the case.

I can not say I am really surprised, if Vikings lower their price to 3rd round pick, there would probably be some interest, that is what Harris is worth in my opinion

I'd be happily surprised. I think given his contract situation, they would be hard pressed to get better than a 4th.

We’re trying to extend both Harris and cook. But there’s all this talk we should trade them instead

Where did you see they are very far apart? I haven’t seen that anywhere, just searched it on google and still couldn’t find anything that said that

Franchising a guy in order to trade him is pretty dirty dealing, and it might come back to bite the vikings.

Come back to bite us how? If this is true, they are going to get something.

It all comes down to cost, for both players under discussion. I like them both and like seeing them on the roster and playing, but they both will come at a future cost. Some costs/contracts are not worth it, IMO. And in today's game I'd be REALLY hard pressed to pay top dollar particularly at RB.

It isn't dirty dealing. The franchise tag was agreed to by the NFLPA. The franchised player is guaranteed to get a lot of money if he so chooses to sign the tag.

I hear ya but who said anything about top dollar? Zeke is making $15 million a year. I don’t see cook touching that

If you franchise a guy because you value him and want to keep him its one thing. If you franchise him so you can trade him, hold out for more than the market is offering and severely damage his value on the FA market in the process, its pretty dirty. I really won't be shocked if Harris sits out the season and the Vikings have damaged their reputation with players throughout the league. Its a very Washington Redskins kind of move.

The only thing I find odd with this (not saying it’s not true) is that this was tweeted 5 days ago and nobody else is reporting it. Harris is a pretty big name at this point and no one is talking about it? Just seems strange
