Good point. Pretty sure the Niners have a little somethin' somethin' to say about that.Mothman wrote: Wow, the Seahawks hype machine is in full swing, isn't it? I remember the Eagles were the most talented team last year, the DREAM TEAM even!Mothman wrote: Wow, the Seahawks hype machine is in full swing, isn't it? Re: Winfield released
The difference between the Eagles' Dream Team and the Seahawks is that Seattle has actually proved they can win and did so last year.mondry wrote: I remember the Eagles were the most talented team last year, the DREAM TEAM even!

Name some NFC West teams better. If they get Winfield, thats going to shore up that D. I dont believe in the hype, I believe in the way Seatle built their team, and the talent they have.Mothman wrote: Wow, the Seahawks hype machine is in full swing, isn't it? I would take the 49er's everytime over the Seahawks. I do not think that adding a 37 year old CB is going to vault them ahead of them.PurpleKoolaid wrote: Name some NFC West teams better. Where did I say its going to vault them? Why are you making stuff up people said in half your posts. I said he would shore up their secondary, just like he did ours, last year. Hes one of the best cover 2 corners there is.
And SF wont be the same team. We beat them last year, with a PeeWee at QB. I bet Seatle is more then capable nest season.

I might get a few rocks thrown at me for this but I think Josh Robinson, now with some experience under his belt, can fill in Twon's shoes for years to come. Still will take time given IMO Twon is one of the best to play the position. Another theory I have is we play our chess pieces correctly an steal the Honey Badger in the later rds. I know some of you might not agree with the idea of bringing in another "problem child" but Ty is worth the risk. He's still raw an needs to work on coverage but he is a pure playmaker. His measurements are exactly the same as Twon's is just faster and more explosive. what he doesn't have, and what is most important, is the same football IQ. Just like anything that will come with time an experience. I hope to see a more mature and Hungry Matthieu in purple come draft day.

No rock throwing from my point of view. I think JR is the real deal with blazing speed and unlimited potential. He came out of college a year early and was a very good pick for the Vikes.

The Seahawks will crash and burn like the Eagles did. Yes they have the talent but when you have too many egos on one team, it'll only lead to disaster. I can only imagine how players like Harvin will act if the 'hawks season didn't go as well as expected.

Re: Winfield released
If that were true, both SF and the Ravens would have crashed and burned last year. Repeatedly.JEC334 wrote:The Seahawks will crash and burn like the Eagles did. Trust me...I wish you were right, but I think you're just hoping that that happens judging by what you said. The Seahawks are nothing like that Eagles team and like I said before...they've already proved they can win and only fell just short of playing SF in the NFCCG.JEC334 wrote:The Seahawks will crash and burn like the Eagles did. I really feel like Seattle is a dangerous football club and Percy makes it worse. I really want them to flub up, but it's hard to ignore how good they've been at constucting that team.

Re: Winfield released
Seattle is nothing more than pre-season hype at this point. Maybe they’ll deliver and be great, maybe not. The NFL is littered with teams that were Free Agency darlings who never even made the playoffs. The Eagles Dream Team is just the most recent example of this phenomenon. Of course, that doesn’t mean they won’t succeed either, at this point all they are is a roster on paper. Don’t forget that an injury here or there could completely scuttle their season. Oh, and you forgot the biggest of all egos on that team: Pete Carroll.
When we played them, Ponder had a horribly bad game and we were still in it until the end and we were playing on the road. Either our Defense is THAT good or Seattle isn’t that far ahead of the rest of the teams out there. I like where our Defense is going, but I think the latter part of that sentence is closer to the truth. I bet if we had met them in the playoffs we would have beaten them.
To the topic of this thread, did Seattle sign Winfield or was there just speculation that they might sign him?
