seriously are we expecting child to do anything for us at all? if we are banking on that, it will be a long, long year. hes not even a #1 WR.

It's likely he doesn't last past the top 15.losperros wrote: I'm wondering if Spielman might look to the SEC again to draft a WR. Maybe Cordarrelle Patterson? Patterson might need some development time but his upside is off the charts.
People are excited about Child’s potential as an outside WR. He is 6’5”. I agree that his injury history makes him a giant dice roll and more likely to never play a down than be an impact player. However, at this point he is sunk cost and that state of our WR are such that having Childs reach his potential would be quite awesome.smoothoperator wrote:seriously are we expecting child to do anything for us at all? if we are banking on that, it will be a long, long year. hes not even a #1 WR.
He was measured 6'3⅛" at the 2012 combine.mansquatch wrote:People are excited about Child’s potential as an outside WR. He is 6’5”.
Seriously. The guy will never suit up and play for us. The guy will be lucky to be jogging by the time september hits.smoothoperator wrote:seriously are we expecting child to do anything for us at all? if we are banking on that, it will be a long, long year. hes not even a #1 WR.
I must have missed the post here where someone said he was?mondry wrote:I must have missed the conference / tweet / interview where spielman said Childs will be our savior at WR?
Adam Schefter via TwitterFormer 49ers S Dashon Goldson agreed to terms on a five-year deal with Tampa Bay. Really. We're sure.
Reports he's headed to Denver.jackal wrote:To be honest I really want Welker the guy is such a great reciever..

I hope we get Welker .. but i doubt it ..
Not including special teams captain Matthew Slater, they currently have four receivers under contract -- veteran Brandon Lloyd and the little-known unproven trio of Kamar Aiken, Jeremy Ebert and Andre Holmes.
And with Lloyd due a $3 million bonus over the weekend, there is a strong possibility that he won’t even be on the roster.
You and me both, but it might have something to do with the player's perspective on themselves not being so old and not realizing by then they'll probably be cut. I'm not sure how exactly it works but the Agent is probably okay with it too saying "i got you this deal with this bonus, not my fault you ran out of gas by then." The Agent may even get paid based on that deal, and not it actually being received. That might explain a lot actually.Eli wrote:I just don't get these bombshell roster bonuses that older players accept in their contracts. It's as though they're asking to be cut when they come due. Lloyd had the second best season of his entire career last year, with 74 catches and 911 yards. If the Patriots are unwilling to pay this roster bonus after a season like that, then they never were going to pay it. He'll be 32 this coming season, but ****, Lloyd and his agent certainly knew that before he signed the contract. I just don't get it.
Make a run at Urlacher?Eli wrote:I'd love to see Audie Cole get his shot, but more likely they just aren't in love with Jasper Brinkley. They know they need to upgrade the talent level at linebacker. Henderson's re-signing is for depth and special teams. After that it's going to be either draft picks or some mid-level free agent.
