@Andrew_Krammer Zimmer said Sharrif Floyd has a "piece of cartilage torn" in injured left ankle, no timetable for recovery "I've heard so many ranges."

On the bright side, this is only the second most disappointing Monday of the season...

Re: 2015 Vikings Injury Thread
The biggest issue is it depends where the cartilage has suffered the damaged. A lot of times, cartilage damage in the ankle occurs around the talus - specifically the talar dome. The problem with cartilaginous injuries are that they are slow to progress because cartilage is not vascular. Meaning, the cartilage does not have a direct blood supply into its tissue.dead_poet wrote:
Without a specific diagnosis (something we in the public will not get), it is hard to estimate how long Sharrif will be out. Every human body is different and timetables return are not the end-all-be-all of injury progression. Hopefully, Sharrif makes a strong recovery and we see him back out with the team in November sometime.

Re: 2015 Vikings Injury Thread
If we were built to sustain an injury at any group, the recent injuries at WR and DT are the places to go. We have really nice depth at those positions.frosted wrote:#### all of our lives........
I hear you though, it's definitely a bummer.

Haven't heard anything but from what I can recall, it looked like he was holding his shin area.dead_poet wrote:Anybody have any information on Thielen? I believe Wright's injury was a concussion but I didn't see what Thielen's was. He was down for awhile. Was he able to walk off under his own power? The telecast cut away and I never heard.

Jabari Price - DB - Vikings
Vikings placed CB Jabari Price on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, ending his season.
LB Brandon Watts was promoted from the practice squad in a corresponding roster move. Price had yet to be active since coming off the suspended list in Week 3. He'll fight for one of the Vikings' final roster spots in 2016.

Bad news seem to trickle slowly out of this regime. I am worried about Floyd. I won't be surprised if they announce its worse than they've indicated after the bears game.

Price looked good at times, but man, thank goodness we have enough depth this year and will not need him.dead_poet wrote:Jabari Price - DB - Vikings

Peterson should be fine. Looks like another game without Floyd. Wright back.
@markcraignfl Peterson stretches, but doesn't participate in open part of practice. Cole, Wright return. Floyd not there. Ellison not participating.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I'm concerned about Floyd. I hope he can return sometime next month.dead_poet wrote:Peterson should be fine. Looks like another game without Floyd. Wright back.

Re: 2015 Vikings Injury Thread
I don't think you're being paranoid. He had some cartilage removed from his knee. I have no idea what that means and the sports medicine guy I follow in Twitter has surprisingly not mentioned it yet so I have no further insight. It doesn't help that the team is so mum on these things. Usually if they're not specific or brushing it off (like Zimmer did with Peterson, saying "He'll be fine") I'm right there with you.losperros wrote: Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I'm concerned about Floyd.
