Trades for a 5th round garbage pick, and takes a kid that didn't bother showing up, meaning even the kid underrated himself. Officially the dumbest gm in the nfl!

@evansilva: Would bet #Vikings end up using Anthony Barr at Sam 'backer on early downs and rush end in sub-packages. Kind of a Von Miller-like role.

Does lose contain at times against outside runs.
This is my point, everything good they say about him, is about him rushing the passer. We need some LBs that can cover a pass, and stop the run. The things that he is said to need improvement in.

A lot of you don't believe yet that Zimmer can get the best out of a player. Believe me, he's seen something with this guy, and that's why he chose him. You'll realize later how good Zimmer is. And if you don't, send him back to Cincinnati. We miss him there.

Lol the negativity can swerve. C.J. Mosely is not better than Anthony Barr. Not even close. Barr has one of the highest ceiling's in the draft. This guy will be a beast for us.

We all appreciate your psychoanalysis, but getting an extra pick for someone we had no interest in is one of the smartest moves we could have made.

Wish the Vikings could have traded back a bit more but Barr played for two years and in those two years, he's only one of three to have double digit sacks back-to-back years. He's been a top 10/15 guy for months now unlike every QB who is all over the place.

I don't think Manziel will make it past the Dallas Cowboys. lol Bridgewater sounds like a possibility though.

Via a guy I follow on Twitter whose opinion I respect:
Oh mercy. This is dead on. RT @AaronNagler: Hate that the Vikings got Barr. Zimmer is going to make him a star.
and..
@PFF Anthony Barr joins Brian Robison who had 83 pressures last year which was 3rd most for all rushers. Allows Griffen to rush from the inside.
and
@Andrew_Krammer: Barr posted up/down figures at Combine. 4.44 40, but a LB-low 15 reps on the bench. Has played 27 games at LB.

LOL! I don't mind the pick. He's clearly a very talented player and I have to believe Zimmer has a specific role in mind for him in his defense or they wouldn't have selected him. There's been a ton of talk around here about improved coaching and coaching up players. There's no doubt Barr has talent. Hopefully he has the work ethic to go with it and they'll "coach him up"!

Spielman's fear of failure in going QB. Which is understandable. One more failure and he's history.

To me Barr seems more like a 3rd down specialist DE pass rusher. Not a LB.

I mean, a team needs a 3rd down pass rushing specialist......but with the #9 overall pick???!!!??
