So, now we are back to blaming the fans?

"If only those poor Vikings fans had higher expectations and demanded more out of their team over the years, they wouldn't have had to witness 50+ years without a Super Bowl win..."

I have no doubt that Vikings fans influence things such as the home-field advantage and whatnot...but beyond that? C'mon man. The overall success of drafting, QB play, wins vs. losses...? Doubt it.

And, if you are suggesting that "demands and expectations" get us "deep playoff runs and Super Bowls" then you are also suggesting that we aren't good fans, because we aren't getting the job done. Right? Just going by your logic here. Or are you suggesting that some fans' "acceptance" cancels out your "demands", and that's why the Vikings aren't getting those "deep playoff runs and Super Bowls"? :D

Again, hopefully for the last time, fan expectations and demands don't change what goes on on the football field for the Vikings. They really only affect you--and how you handle their performance.

Welp, now I feel terrible. I was at my friends house and way more interesting things started to happen so my focus on the game was only about 20%. Granted it did stay on way in the back ground in the other room but I dropped the ball. It's my fault, sorry for the loss today guys, I don't know what happened, I was watching, then I just didn't seem to care anymore and I lowered my expectations. Not only that but you could even say I demanded a blow out loss. I thought it would help get new coaches and a better draft pick but I had no idea I was this powerful.

Next year I'll get us a super bowl though to make up for this but again, my bad guys, I didn't know I was this powerful!

You don't get to go up against Kurt Coleman and Nate Allen every week.
Show where one person said Cassel was a savior. We said he was the best we have. And we knew that vultures like you would descend as soon as he played poorly to say "I told you so".

Criticizing when you have no alternatives to offer is the easiest thing in the world.

People wanted to hand him next years starting job after two good games this year before the season was even over....

I knew Ponder was a horrible QB the day he was drafted.

The freeman move blew my mind, he has shown nothing this year, and was aloowed only 1 game.

Ofc people had hope when Cassel played as good as he did. He is the only one of the bunch to keep next year. Going to be a fun ride for these QBs playing outside, with the wind and cold.

Cassel should be brought back as a backup. What I fear most is that either Ponder or Freeman may also be back.

What's amazing is not how bad Cassel and Ponder and Freeman are, but just how terrible is the position in which the Vikings leave themselves. Any way you slice it - even if they were to bring in another free agent and draft a 1st round QB - the Vikings are starting from scratch again at QB.

Lets see

he won the Bears game
played very well at Baltimore in the snow and would have won if not for a world record collapse
trashed the Eagles, who trashed Cutler and the Bears tonite
lost badly to a first place team with one of the best defenses, using Musgraves predictable 10th grade playcard

Certainly, as Vikings, we should not tolerate anyone who plays well most of the time!!! Instead we should start....um...who is that we should start again?

Trully amazing. You knew on the day Ponder was drafted that he was a "horrible QB" huh. Did you ever even watch him play a FSU  In 2009, Ponder, through the first eight games of the season, led the ACC in passing average per game and was one of the national leaders in yards and passing efficiency. 2010, his senior year, Ponder was named to the Maxwell Award watch list, The 2010 season, Ponder was the first Seminole quarterback since Chris Weinke in 1999 to beat Miami and Florida. He also won the 2010 James Tatum award, given to the nation's top student-athlete and was named the MVP in the Senior Bowl where the Vikings staff coached him in an upset victory over the North squad.
Yep he really sucked coming into the pros but apparently you knew that

Man I don't buy that anyone knew that Ponder was going to suck coming out of the draft. The only concern people was reaching for him in the 1st round when he most likely would have been available in the 2nd-3rd round. Most fans were ready for him to start instantly. Then there were some that thought he probably needed to ride the bench for a year or so. Never did I see a Christian Ponder being horrible come from anyone's mouth.

This was the guy, according to Mike Mayoch and others who was suppose to have the West Coast tool set. Who can make all the NFL type throws. Who is suppose to have high football IQ. Now if someone were to say that they thought Ponder was overrated coming out of the draft then I would believe that. I mean he only had ONE good season in college and that was his senior year.

While I had doubts about Ponder, I was pretty psyched after his first NFL pass. I was telling everyone he was going to outgun Rodgers in the Green Bay game that year...Like Leslie Frazier, I like to be an optimist when it comes to what other people can achieve. I don't know when exactly I realized he was never going to cut it, but it was at least 20 games before Frazier. I was pretty sure he was going nowhere after 2011. His modest successes in 2012 did not fool me one bit and his performance in pre-season this year let me know this would be a very long season.

I agree completely. Cassel was and is our best QB right now. He has played well in most of his games. We desperately need to draft a good QB next year and I hope we do. But right now Cassel is out best option. Now We might be able to grab a better free agent next year and we might be able to draft a good QB who is starter quality. But those are not guaranteed propositions. We would be stupid to jettison all of our QBs. We need to keep one of them and that one should be Cassel.

I get what you're saying but totally disagree with what you're saying. No, I would never pick another team, because I expect my team to do what is needed to win. I think you may be underrating fans' influence.
You're not serious, right?

Do you honestly think you or I have ANY power or influence over what happens with the Minnesota Vikings?

It's all about the numbers, and we just don't have them. You could start a petition drive, get 50,000 people to say they refuse to watch the Vikings or buy their merchandise until they "meet our demands," whatever that is, and the organization would just laugh. Not only is that less than 1% of the fanbase in the Minnesota-Iowa-Dakotas area, most of those people's resolve to boycott would last about 3 days. And the Vikings know it.

Face it, man. The Vikings could care less what a few chumps on a message board think. We're here to vent and show each other how smart we are. Basically, it's for fun. That's about it.

Go ahead. I dare you.
Underestimate this man.
