Gared Allen? ;)

I don't get how he's "uncomfortable" returning to Minny when we're not at all responsible for what he did, yet he is more than fine going to Texas, where the alleged incident took place. I'd love to have him as the player back, but hearing his publicized words makes me realize how shallow he is as a person, even for one who committed his acts.

If he doesn't come back here, would love to dump him to Tampa like someone else mentioned for their second this year and a 1st/2nd next year if possible.

Zimmer seemed to do well with keeping criminals happy in Cincy so hopefully he still has the magic and this can all go away finally.

I've jokingly called him Gerald so often I forgot that his name starts with a J.

The difference is public opinion. Even in Missouri, people think it's weird that he got in so much trouble. The further south you go, the more accepted he will be.

As a dislocated Minnesotan who has lived in two different urban areas of TX, I have to say it isn't quite that simple. I would wager a lot of money that much of Southern (rural) Missouri is WAY more supportive of the kind of punishment AD delivered than most folks in the urban centers of TX.

IMO, it is more about leaving MN, the place where AD's family experienced a sharp decline in public opinion, than the destination. Just my .02.

I agree that a lot of this has to do with avoiding the fan base that went from viewing him as a monster on the field to viewing him as a monster off the field. But as far as the rural/urban thing goes, I'm sure you're right, but I would still wager that urban Texas is more supportive than urban Minnesota.

No doubt about that. I just don't think it's quite as simple as the further south you get the more supportive the populace is of corporal punishment for children.

Anyways, I think the fact that his wife is meeting with Zimmer, a guy that AD has repeatedly said he respects and thinks highly, is a very good sign. Almost like AD is trying to show her why he might want to stay--allowing her to see, from their perspective, a positive side of the organization.

at this point i couldn't care less what happens to him. if he is back, fine, if not the vikings will live on. he beats the crap out of his kid and yet the vikings are basically pleading with him to return? give me a break. either way his best years are behind him.

I see some media members talking about the Vikings "begging" AP to return. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Zimmer isn't going to beg anyone to do anything. Either you're with him or you're not.

There's probably a much better chance of Zimmer getting pissed off during the meeting and walking out than begging AP to play for him.

No one is pleading with him Rick is saying the positive neutral stuff that ANYONE in his position should be saying if he A) plans on getting value for AP of B) plans on keeping him. There is literally zero upside to public hounding AP for something he has paid his dues for.

I am ready to move on strictly based on age.

IMO his wife doesn't like Minnesota, like I wouldn't like Minnesota if I had millions of dollars to spend and could basically live out my fantasies. They have a "chance" to leave and AP is soured on Minnesota. This would be the exact time I would put my foot down to him

Rick Spielman and Mike Zemmer have been spotted in Houston and cameras caught them entering the home of Adrian Peterson. The still photo below captured the greeting between the two sides who look to be fairly friendly.
