Yeah, it sounds like it could easily be a career ending injury. Damn.

This sucks. Hopefully he recovers but his career could be over. Mike Wallace is looking good right now (unlikely). I really don't want to start Jenkins.

This news about Childs is awful but there's no official word on the injuries yet so let's not jump to conclusions. Yes, his career could be over but he could also be healthy and ready to go next summer. Let's just hope for the best and see what happens.

Torn patellar tendons both knees. Childs out for season. Ouch.

That sucks and what's most unsettling about it is that he's torn a patellar tendon before. Now that it's happened to both knees (and twice to one knee) you have to wonder if this is just something he's genetically predisposed to, something that will recur if he keeps playing.
For his sake, I hope he can come back from it.
Not to be insensitive or dismissive of Childs' misfortune but has anybody heard anything about how the Vikings other 4th round draft pick at WR, Jarius Wright, has looked in camp?

damn that sucks for Childs. His career might be over before it even began.
So basically he jumped and had full body extension on a deep pass, and landed hard on both his knees? And tore ligaments in BOTH?! That's messed up.

I'd support them getting Plax. He doesn't seem like a repeat knucklehead.

I was thinking about that yesterday, before Childs was injured. We haven't heard much aboutl Jarius Wright.

No thanks. Maybe if we had Favre and were making a push. We're rebuilding, there's no reason to bring in a mid-30s never was for a year or two. Just give Wright a chance or find someone else that might have a future in the league.
Second big long receiver we took a chance on with injury concerns. Maybe third time will be a charm?

I hate to be morbid, but I really want to see video of what happened to Childs. He wasn't touched, came down after going for a high pass in the end zone, and managed to tear the patellar tendons in both knees. How do you do that?

My guess is that he tried to a tuck-and-roll type thingy but was in a difficult position and took all the weight on his knees.
