ya that is just baseball to be honest. pitchers always have the edge on batters and you never know when you're going to run into a hot one. every team has good streaks and bad, and i could find any team in the majors this season who have had stretches of a couple games where they barely mustered a hit.
i just hope the trend doesn't continue.

Now its our time wrote:Getting one run against Lincecum I can totally understand though. He's a cy young winner and the ace for one of, if not the best, pitching rotations in the league. Whoever thinks he's going to give up 5 runs every game is

Didnt expect to put 5 up on him. But the Twins scored 3 runs in the last 26 innings. Thats not good. The 1st inning vs them, we ran into a pitcher who had a terrible night, luckily, and we won based soley on the fact we lit him up. Since then, in 26 innings, a grand total of 3 runs.

This sucks....Morneau will be undergoing neck surgery to relieve a pinched nerve. Out until AT LEAST August.

WTF happened? I thought he was close to coming back.
This, IMO, puts the Twins in a large conundrum. Morneau has not proved he can be healthy for a full season. Cuddyer plays a very good 1B, and actually so does Luke Hughes. Is Morneau's time with the Twins possible coming to a close? Morneau will command a fairly decent salary no doubt. I think with Revere, Span, Kubel, and Repko, they are sitting pretty well with OF's (and maybe even moreso if Young is not traded), so moving Cuddyer to permanent 1B wouldn't be a bad move at all, IMO.

Exactly. PLUS, Mauer needs to find a non-catching position he can play for 28mil a season. There is no logical way they can keep Morneau if he wants huge money, Mauer already got big money and cant live up to it, Justin seems on same path. He is a good guy and easy to cheer for, but if the Twins dont get a home town discount, it would be foolish IMO.

I don't think you can start making that argument yet. If he's still getting hurt next season, then we can go there, but not now. He's too valuable and beloved by the fans to get rid of him so quickly. I'm not so sure Morneau is the kind of guy who would leave to go get a big payday, either.
Apparently, Gardy has already spoken to Mauer about possibly playing some 1B. Interesting

And they lose again. I still contend, until a "stud" steps up, doesnt matter. Six runs the last 35 innings is not too impressive. Unless you play for a MLB central team not the Twins. Yuk.

Well, like you said before, we really weren't expecting much on this roadtrip. Their offense has been anaemic for a while now, and it shows when they face good pitching.
Now, can we please shut Mauer down for a few more months, or at least put him back into AAA until he gets his #### together? At least Butera is hitting over .200. Mauer is not right. Something other than "weak legs" is wrong with him. He isn't right. He's hurting the team. If we are going to pay him $23 mill, I want him to at least contribute. Or, let's just trade him to NY and get some prospects for him now befre he has no value left.

Too bad the Twins cant play cellar dwellers all season so they look like an actual MLB team. We'll be back to 15 games back in no time.

twins are playing bad again no question. but the success we've had of late was definitely not against cellar dwellers except for the padres.
we've swept the sox all 4 games we've played them. they are currently 3.5 games back.
we won our first series against the indians who are currently leading the division.
we just took 3 of 4 from the rangers who are also leading their division.
so i agree we are playing like crap again. but it's not like we got to play all the worst teams in baseball for a couple weeks. we played one crappy team and the rest are pretty good clubs.
no doubt they need to find the bats again....

I was wrong on my 2-6 record on the road trip

1-5, terrible. Our line up is embarrassing, Mauer needs to be traded or something, batting .190 with ZERO home runs for the season. I swear these guys could get hurt reading a bedtime story to their daughters. Pansies.

They are having significant injuries to their vaginas.
I think the training staff needs to go immidiately. There is no way a team should have this many injuries.

This team is definately not "tough" in ANY way. Did you see when Delmon was injured?? It didnt look like a MLB outfielder running to catch a pop-fly, looked like a fat kid chasing the ice cream truck and he ran right into the wall. Looked nothing like an actual pro athlete.
Offensively we had 2 good innings on this six game road trip. Mentally and physically this team is a bunch of pussies.

I thought he'd come around but maaan...can we trade him for Gomez straight up?

At least we give other teams the chance to try out their bench players in the latewr innings. Wow, the Twins are just plain terrible right now. No other way to describe it, plain terrible. Guardy rules!
