@christomasson #Vikings waive WR Gavin Lutman (hamstring) with injury settlement and sign DT Greg Hickman, who had played with Winnipeg in CFL & at FIU.

Geez.
Lions released S Taylor Mays
Mays reportedly asked for his release after not playing in Thursday's preseason game. The Lions are the second team to release him this season. Mays was signed for the veteran minimum and should resurface as a sub-package safety.

Vikings release LS Cullen Loeffler. Best of luck to him. Kevin McDermott wins the starting job.

Wow, that represents an end to an era of sorts. Good luck to Cullen Loeffler! I appreciate the valuable (if largely unsung) role he's played for the Vikings over the years.

I seem to recall seeing something about him having a successful ice carving business on the side! Good luck to Cullen!

10 years. His spot will go to Kevin McDermott, who won the long snapper job.

And I thought it was 12 years?
Anyway,
Cullen Loeffler called to offer congratulations to Kevin McDermott. It was how McDermott learned he won.
Class act. What a dude.
