Nice work! Rick was surprisingly straightforward regarding our strategy for OL and the type of player we were seeking. It described Bradbury to a T and you and I (and many 'experts' leading up to the draft, to be fair) sniffed it. Unlike other years, however, their visits were less indicative of whom they were targeting. I wonder if that was part of subterfuge or they simply wanted to meet with Ford and others to make sure Bradford was their guy... meaning, they were super high on Bradford, but had lingering doubts about whether Ford would be even better for them?
Maybe they anticipated Ford might be an option in the 2nd round?
If Spielman and Zimmer go OL in the 2nd, I'm going to call Risner as that pick.

Risner doesn't really excite on the measurables front, but he's another guy who put a lot of consistently high quality work on tape throughout his college career and I think has a long future in the NFL.

Spielman might go in another direction with the 2nd round pick as there should be some real quality players on the board there, but Risner, if there, would be a steal IMHO.

My desire would be to trade up and get Taylor/Ford in the first 5 picks (giving up our 3rd and a future 2nd). Then select Hakeem Butler in at 18 (maybe giving up a 6th to select him).

Taylor or Ford for next season and adding Hakeem Butler to our WR corps would make us unbeatable. Hakeem Butler streaking down the field with only a safety on him makes me hard. Best of all that WR group would be together for 4 years.

I would be ecstatic if Risner was available. I think there's a lot of OL needy teams ahead of us though and most chose to go defense round 1.

I agree both that Risner would be an ideal round 2 pick and that some other OL needy team is almost certainly going to snatch him up before us.

I think WR or TE might be the best targets in round 2 by the time we pick.

Once again, I think the Vikings should go OL once agin this round although three have been taken. If no quality OL are there, then I say go defense and draft Jaylon Ferguson

The ones I wanted are gone now. I'm shifting to the Dline, hoping for Winovich

I love all the picks he has added for tomorrow. Adding cheap, young talent and competition. Rick has done well in later rounds during his tenure.

Yep, it's like a game for him. How many picks can I get!? Weeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He talks about how great the roster is......well, if that was the case you would want a few quality picks.....not 30 picks in the 7th. EVERY YEAR WITH THIS NONSENSE :wallbang:

Ziggy! WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But if 1 of the 12 sticks, he will be a GENIUS for drafting a guy who has a decent career at ST in the 6th! Even when the other 11 are cut
Just unbelievable what a total clown this guy is.

and if Mattison was the guy they were targeting in the 3rd, then I think that's amazing.
