Haven't done one in a while. Walter football board.
8 OT GREG ROBINSON AUBURN
40 LB RYAN SHAZIER OHIO STATE
72 QB ZACH METTENBERGER LSU
96 CB STANLEY JEAN-BAPTISTE NEBRASKA
108 DT DAQUAN JONES PENN STATE
148 QB AARON MURRAY GEORGIA
184 WR DEVIN STREET PITTSBURGH
223 S BROCK VEREEN MINNESOTA
Robinson was too tempting to pass up. I think you plug him in at RT right away and move Loadholt to guard. Loadholt is a beast in the run game and I think guard helps mask some of his pass protection issues. Getting stood up due to his height may be an issue but I'd take that over getting beat on the edge. In any case, the line becomes very modular, physical and athletic.
Shazier was a nice BPA and need pick plus the only QB on the board worth looking at was Jimmy G. Mett falling to the 3rd was a nice surprise as was picking up Jean-Baptiste to finish up the round. Mett and Murray both have injury concerns but both show a lot of upside so I took both. Let 'em fight it out in camp or keep both on the roster and cut he-who-shall-not-be-named.

There seems to be a consensus that the top 10 are in flux right now. I like it. Mack might just fall to us. I just can't see how Houston could pass on Clowney. That leaves some other prospects sneaking up into the top 10. Barr was taken before 8 in this simulation. I took Borland too as a traditional 4-3 Mike.
I took Ford to back up out aging LDE and put some much needed depth on the DL.
Mett in the 4th was a gift, I don't expect he will last that long, but he was there. I like Latimer for depth and Colvin is a 6'2" physical corner.
Rounded out with some OL help and a shifty 3rd down back specialist in the 7th, rounds it out.

This is a near-dream scenario (save for not prioritizing guard again and hoping another mid to late-round QB pans out), but there's no way in heck it comes to fruition. Lattimer lasting to round five?! I'd be shocked if he got out of round 2. His stock has been skyrocketing. Kiper said he'd be "shocked" if Latimer doesn't go in first round. Sign me up for this draft!

Seems like with this sim it really depends on which board you choose. Some of them seem to be really inaccurate to me. I've found Walter Football to be the one that is most in line with the traditional mocks although even that one has a few head scratchers.

LOL....glad you like it. It's guys that do the said skyrocketing that just might make someone we all want, fall. I agree with your sentiments on guard. In this one they were picked over quickly and maybe that is why Borland was still available. I would love to get Su a Filo (spelling?) in the second but I suspect that he will go late 20s.

Agreed. I find it funny how some boards have some guys in the 50s-60s and other boards have the same guy in the mid 200s.....I guess after the first 30 or so picks, you better trust your own scouts.

It is hard to say I would fire you without seeing who was available when you picked. Jake Matthews and Matt Kalil would be a dream offensive tackle tandem. I don't if Loadholt could play guard effectively at his size, but dang, he would be much better than Charlie Johnson!

Honestly, I do not see Carlos Hyde or Tajh Boyd dropping to where I was able to draft them. Trent Murphy either. However, if that was our draft scenario, I would be ecstatic.

This thing is WAY too fun
This time I thought it might be interesting if I picked for a team that was ahead of us and let the simulator select the Vikings picks. This is what happened. I was picking for the Bucs.
8
WR SAMMY WATKINS
CLEMSON
40
OLB DEMARCUS LAWRENCE

Not a bad draft even by pure dart throwing. At 7, I passed on Watkins just to see if the simulator would deal him to the Vikes( I picked OT Mathews, I would expect the Bucs to pick Watkins here, but not out of the question) . It did, even though I think most people would agree that WR is not our biggest need. It did pick mostly defense and did get a QB at what a lot of people would consider a pretty good value.
It was really fun doing it this way, more realistic because we have no control over the whole thing anyways!!

You may as call this the most unrealistic draft scenario imaginable. I literally got unbelievable value with every pick I had.
