I know CB is an area of need, but rookie CBs take a while to develop. FA corners aren't getting much right now-I'd rather go that way with a couple vets (Apple, Dennard, Kirkpatrick, etc.)RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2020 10:00 amThat is a terrible draft except for Javon Kinlaw and Thaddeus Moss, Kinlaw is a stud! Welp. This one was fun. Part homer, part needs, part just for fun.

Re: 2020 Vikings Mock Draft
I'm incredibly bias because Randy was my favorite player of all time...of any sport. Having his son would just be fun. I've also heard he is a very good run blocker. So my thought process is to get him ready to replace Rudy, and draft 3 WR prospects in the second half of the draft and hit on one. I like the idea of Irv and Moss. Build on OL and DL early.VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2020 1:57 pmPlayers are good, but the order of selection isn't. Going DT and DE in the first round IMO simply wrong. The only CB selected is no better than we already have. TE in the third? No don't do that. Tyler Johnson was a good selection but not for our first WR.RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2020 10:00 am

Interesting. I bet the more you follow their board the better grade you get. I'm off to try it right now.StumpHunter wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 9:01 am I like this one:

Re: 2020 Vikings Mock Draft
Took me a minute to figure it out. Thanks for the recommendation Stump it does have some cool features.
Since I got to see how they ranked everybody I thought it would be fun to try to draft well for the Vikings while manipulating the system for a good score. I made two trade backs so 14 total picks with 10 of them being graded A+ three more A and one B+ for going with my personal favorite Chase Claypool.
Round 1 Pick 25: A.J. Terrell, CB, Clemson (A-)
Round 2 Pick 1 (CINN): Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon (A+)
Round 2 Pick 26: Cesar Ruiz, C/OG, Michigan (A)
Round 2 Pick 27 (SEA): Jalen Reagor, WR, TCU (A+)
Round 3 Pick 1 (CINN): Chase Claypool, WR/TE, Notre Dame (B+)
Round 3 Pick 25: Lucas Niang, OT, TCU (A+)
Round 3 Pick 41 (COMP): Ben Bartch, OT/OG, St. John's (MN) (A+)
Round 4 Pick 26: Geno Stone, FS/SS, Iowa (A+)
Round 5 Pick 21: Darnay Holmes, CB, UCLA (A+)
Round 6 Pick 26: Benito Jones, DT, Ole Miss (A+)
Round 6 Pick 28: Antonio Gibson, WR, Memphis (A+)
Round 7 Pick 5: Chauncey Rivers, DE, Miss. State (A)
Round 7 Pick 35 (COMP): Michael Warren II, RB, Cincinnati (A+)
Round 7 Pick 39 (COMP): Ahmad Wagner, TE, Kentucky (A+)
I don't believe getting Herbert at 33 is realistic at all or Ruiz at 58 or Reagor at 59. I don't think any of it was very realistic, but it was a fun experience.

Some of the drafts are more realistic than others, but even in the real world I don't think anyone would have said Rodgers at 24 was realistic or Moss at 21 before the draft. Weird things happen and guys fall.

Re: 2020 Vikings Mock Draft
It's certainly true that weird things happen and guys fall. This just had me getting IMO ridiculous values for way too many picks. My first scored 40,000 something second 41,000 something. Got Becton at 22 in this one.StumpHunter wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 10:17 amWhat was your point total?VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 10:05 am Took me a minute to figure it out. Thanks for that link. I registered and took a crack at it and this was my result:StumpHunter wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 9:01 am I like this one:

You get a point total and grade on your drafts.
Your score is: 39050 (GRADE: A-)
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 22: Yetur Gross-Matos, DE/OLB, Penn St. (A)
Round 1 Pick 25: Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma (A)
Round 2 Pick 26: Antoine Winfield Jr., FS/SS, Minnesota (A)
Round 3 Pick 25: Solomon Kindley, OG, Georgia (A+)
Round 3 Pick 41 (COMP): Ben Bartch, OT/OG, St. John's (MN) (A+)
Round 4 Pick 26: Lynn Bowden Jr., WR, Kentucky (A+)
Round 5 Pick 21: Josiah Scott, CB, Michigan St. (A+)
Round 6 Pick 26: McTelvin Agim, DT, Arkansas (A+)
Round 6 Pick 28: John Reid, CB, Penn St. (A+)
Round 7 Pick 5: James Morgan, QB, FIU (A+)
Round 7 Pick 35 (COMP): Scott Frantz, OT, Kansas St. (A+)
Round 7 Pick 39 (COMP): Binjimen Victor, WR, Ohio St. (A+)
I simulated the entire mock except for my picks and I ended up ranking 3rd out of all 32 teams:
How You Matched Up:
1. Miami Dolphins - 41180
2. Cincinnati Bengals - 39155
3. Minnesota Vikings - 39050
4. Jacksonville Jaguars - 38728
5. Los Angeles Chargers - 38686
However, my total score on this site was nowhere near the top drafts for the Vikings on this site:
1. A.D. Whitfield 46403 3/18/2020
2. SpringerDinger 46204 3/19/2020
3. Justino78 45803 4/4/2020
4. SGA 45628 3/18/2020
5. Rowdylab 45565 3/29/2020
Wish I could see what those mocks looked like.
Next time I might try making some trades. My guess is the higher scores probably traded down early and picked up extra early round picks that they used to shore up the team more.

Re: 2020 Vikings Mock Draft
You are correct. I tried another draft with trading down more and got my best score yet. 16 picks 15 A+. That game is designed to stroke peoples egos by giving them ridiculously high scores.VikingLord wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 3:06 pmThanks for that link. Your score is: 42414 (GRADE: A)

Round 1 Pick 30 (G.B.): Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon (A+)

Round 7 Pick 35 (COMP): Jon Runyan, OG, Michigan (A+)
Round 7 Pick 39 (COMP): Michael Warren II, RB, Cincinnati (A+)
The guy with the winning score probably made 30 or more picks.
Actually I tried trading back again and again and got 21 picks, but my score went down. Got some As instead of A+s.

Re: 2020 Vikings Mock Draft
CBS sports has a brand new mock and they are actually kind of entertaining to listen to.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2Q4OUi0ECE
They ended up having the Vikings take Gladney at 22 and Reagor at 25. Both from TCU and I would not be shocked if both those picks ended up correct.
