Good to be him, I guess. Wow. What has Trae Waynes done in the NFL to earn $14 million per year?
Shut down good wide receivers? Wait, never mind, I thought you were talking about Rhodes

wow, total overpay IMO. Waynes is a solid CB and great tackler, but sheesh!!

Vikes need to have a great offseason. Also really need younger guys on D (J. Johnson, Holmes, Ife, Watts, Hughes, Hill) to step up big time or it could be a rough year.

It sounds like we freed up some decent Cap space for this year but what about 2021 and 2022??? It's not like FAs want to sign a 1 year deal.

13 picks - Spielman needs to nail it

Spielman is not going to nail all 13 picks, that is a pipe dream

well, I just meant he needs to nail the draft and the offseason in general.....obviously I'm not expecting him to nail all 13 picks.

I do not see how Speilman can nail the offseason since Vikings have no cap space to sign anyone in free agency

When did a team have success by loading up in free agency? You build through the draft. Free agents aren’t getting us a SB and trust me, they will find ways to bring a few guys in and free up more money. But it won’t be a big name and it doesn’t need to be. Did we bring in any big names at all in 2017? But went to the NFC championship. Our biggest signings were Reiff and Remmers, woof. We have already been calling on a few guys. Two I know of were Jimmy Ward and Jeff Heath. They are going to get low risk, high reward type players. They hardly ever dip in during the early stages. They usually wait for the first wave to go and get the bargains whether they have cap room or not. I don’t want high priced free agents. I want good draft picks and I trust spielman to deliver that

So far the players that Vikings have drafted since Speilman has been general manager have not gotten the Vikings to the Superbowl

Well, I guess we know what positions will be drafted in the first round now. CB and CB.

Zimmer is good at coaching up DBs so perhaps it's not a huge deal. Gonna miss Waynes though. I wonder if Rhodes being gone impacted Wayne's decision.

Vikings are not going to draft 2 cornerbacks in the first round, it would be WR and CB or OL and CB or OL and WR

It is interesting to watch the psychology of fans of teams and how they react to players leaving. Guys who some fans rooted for and who they were excited about having on the team suddenly become divas or not that good to begin with once they leave.

My opinion on Waynes? He was a solid CB who got way too much money to play in Cincy. He wasn't necessarily a bust, but the Vikings did not get the value they should have out of an 11th overall pick.

He was, on the whole, a disappointment given where he was picked. The deal he got in Cincy makes not trading him last year a bit more palatable, as it seems we'll be getting a nice compensatory pick.

Terrance Newman is still available, right?

Hughes is a 1st rder, so he needs to take that step. Hill has starter potential and now can keep playing and smoking his weed.
I think we wait and get at least 1 veteran CB probably 2. Get them on downside of career type contracts. Prove it deals.
I see this roster getting younger with lots of draft picks, mixed with veterans to bridge the youth to starting positions. Then..... We eventually DRAFT a QB ! To
