If that's the offer bye bye Zimmer in a heart beat. Forget the 8 million make it two 3rds instead. We could use the picks big time.

Like I said, I could be wrong and probably am. I've been following this team since game one in 1961. Can't recall if my dad and I watched it or if it was radio only, it's been that long, you'd think I'd have learned to ignore them by now.
There needs to be big changes made regardless of playoff performance. Rhodes and Waynes need to go. Too much cap for little production. The OL needs to be rebuilt again. And not some draft pick either.
The frustrating thing is that a few teams have everything gel at the same time. Trying to remember all the scenarios we've been through these past few years. We had the defense and it looked like one or two more pieces would do it and now the defensive players are falling off while we try to get the offense rolling. Kicking was a problem that was costing us games and a lot of frustration and now we've got that fixed. Player's contracts will be coming up now and we've got the high price QB.

I've been watching the up's and downs with these guys for 58 years so I don't get very excited over what happens but I still like to keep an eye on them. If we drop the game this weekend I'm thinking next week could be an interesting one.

If Dallas wants to trade for Zimmer I say thank him for his service, put a bow on him, wish him well, get some picks, and hire a new head coach.

Maybe Dallas will be willing to trade for Rick Spielman too.

Only if we're lucky. The Vikings aren't usually that lucky.

A two-fer would be sweet!

Jerry is a total bone-head. I hope we can fleece him and improve our coaching situation simultaneously.

It would be nice to be on the winning end of a Dallas/Minnesota fleecing. :D

Been thinking for a while that Zimmer is a great fit for Dallas. Meetings with Garrett and the Jones' seem to be at a crawl and if the Vikings lose on Sunday, I think the chances of it happening, increase significantly. Especially with Kubiak on staff.

I'll be good with it. Love Zimmer though, but it is what it is. Team will be blown up after next season anyway.

While there is nothing in the news that points to that being true, there is also nothing that points to it being untrue. Which is weird, considering how much of a bust this season was for Dallas.

I’d lean toward you being right, though. Jones is invested heavily in the Garrett family. He’s good friends with Garrett’s father, and two of Garrett’s brothers are well-placed in the organization (one is in the scouting department, and the other is tight ends coach). Firing Jason Garrett would pretty much be the same for Jones as firing all three sons of his friend.

As much as it sucks sometimes to be a Vikings fan, it has to be far worse to be a Cowboys fan.

If you anyone wants a prime example of a coach failing to put a good team on the field, the Cowboys this season is it. Garret lost the team, plain and simple.

That is kind of how I feel. I am just afraid Rick survives with Zimmer being the scapegoat. He is an okay GM, but he has never put together a complete team and has failed at the QB and Oline spots for the entirety of his career.

Aside from the 8 Super Bowl appearances and 5 Super Bowl wins anyway. ;)

I understand your point but honestly, as much as I dislike the Cowboys, if we're talking about the 21st century, I'm not sure there's much difference.

The Cowboys have only had 2 losing seasons in their last 15 (6 in the last 20). They've made 7 postseason appearances and won 3 playoff games in the last two decades. They've been mediocre most of the time but have had some strong regular seasons. They've won their division 5 times.

In the last 20 years, the Vikings have also won their division 5 times. They've made the same number of postseason appearances (7). They've won 4 playoff games in that time span, one more than Dallas but they've advanced further, reaching the conference championship 3 times. They've had 7 losing seasons (5 in the last 15 years), one more than Dallas.

Both teams seems stuck in a similarly mediocre, "good but not good enough" state of affairs.

He would have been gone by now. They just dumped some assistants. Jerry likes Garrett because he doesn't get in the way. Jimmy got in the way. He wanted credit for building a monster. Jerry wanted the credit.

Gotta say Randy makes some good point about Zimmer not getting it done. Is he the Marvin Lewis of the NFL?
