It was too much toast. Plus Teddy slathered on extra butter and jam. Bad sign.Raptorman wrote: Why? Because Teddy didn't eat toast at breakfast?

Damn. This will be the first game of the season my girlfriend will be able to watch the game with me. How unfortunate it will be if she has to watch Ponder over Bridgewater.
Anyway, I expect a heavy dose of running if Ponder has to start. Who knows? Maybe Ponder can make some good throws. I am definitely not going to root against this team just because he is starting.

Having media saying Teddy might not play tonight could turn out to be a good thing. It forces the fudge packers to prepare for two different quarterbacks. Not that it is hard to gameplan against Ponder, I am just saying....

I actually believe this is is all engineered smoke-and-mirrors from the Viking camp. I believe Teddy is playing. He gets 9 days rest after this one, and contrary to other poster's opinions, I believe a slick field is easier for him to play on because it means his footing will give way before his ankle does, which would not be the case on firm turf. Zimmer wants McCarthy & Co. to spend as much time beefing up their gameplan for run defense as possible, so he can surprise them with an aerial attack led by Teddy at the helm.ThePiper wrote:Having media saying Teddy might not play tonight could turn out to be a good thing. That would be amazing, gutsy, contrarian, risky and quite the vote of confidence in the rookie. I have my doubts, but we'll find out soon!Leafman wrote: I actually believe this is is all engineered smoke-and-mirrors from the Viking camp. I believe Teddy is playing. Have they activated either of their two QBs from the practice squad.? That to me would speak volumes.dead_poet wrote: That would be amazing, gutsy, contrarian, risky and quite the vote of confidence in the rookie. I have my doubts, but we'll find out soon!

Not that I'm doubting Teddy's confidence, but I wonder what's worse for a rookie QB's confidence: playing really poorly on an injured ankle on a nationally televised game OR sitting out of a nationally televised game and adding fuel to the "Teddy is soft" fire.

Not that I'm aware of ... but the Vikings have said that Patterson and McKinnon can both step in at QB, which would probably mean a LOT of read-option.Purple bruise wrote: Have they activated either of their two QBs from the practice squad.? That to me would speak volumes.

I doubt that either of them could do worse than Webb did in that Puker play-off gameLeafman wrote: Not that I'm aware of ... but the Vikings have said that Patterson and McKinnon can both step in at QB, probably be a LOT of read-option.
