He won't have an NFL future if he can't face the facts that what he did is not considered appropriate in the society he lives in. Regardless of his intent, which I'm inclined to believe his sentiment there.
If he can accept that it's time to break that cycle and he can chose to become a proponent for being a public face for that change, why shouldn't he get a second chance after serving whatever punishment is handed down?
I imagine that a large part of his self-defense reaction is linked to how vilified he has been in the public eye. He's reached monster status in record time in many circles. I think he's fairly confused and lacks significant depth....it's eerily similar to his running style IMO.
I just hope it all works out for a positive change down the road.
