Isn't it crazy how we went from feeling as good as we've felt in 5 years to feeling like it's 2011 within 10 days?

You feel that good?

I'm feeling more like I did after the missed kick in the NFCCG in 1999, but the bright side is, it can't get any worse...

Can it?

A win would take a lot of the hurt some of us feel. Im at the point I don't care, at all, about the NFL, or even college football. There's going to be many other issues of domestic abuse that were buried, that will come to life soon. But to see a win would do me good, especially against the Saints. A blowout loss would just about be the final nail.

On the bright side...can we all be happy for a moment that we were never as bad as Leslie Frazier's Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

Lovie Smith might resent that description. ;)

I just saw the score of that game. Ouch. I looked it up to see what happened and it looks like Atlanta had a defense TD and a punt return TD but Ryan passing efficiency was superb. at a late point the 4th quarter, the stats said he had completed the majority of his passes for 266 yards and 3 TDs. No INTs.

I saw some of TB's first two games and there were quite a few plays where defenders were in position and failed to get the job done. I felt bad for Frazier in those games. I have no idea if it was more of the same tonight but I sure hope the Falcons got all that scoring out of their system because if I remember correctly, the Vikes get them next (and Atlanta will have extra time to prepare).

Sorry to be a downer, but we also have never been as good as them either since they have a SB ring.

Pretty sad state of affairs when the Saints, Bucs, Seahawks, and Rams all have rings and the Vikes don't...

Gotta imagine that the Browns fans feel very similar to being a Vikes fan too.
Browns have never been to the Super Bowl, so I'm not sure if it is worse to never have been to the Super Bowl or having lost 4 times in it. I would say we would more similar to Buffalo fans as they have also lost 4.

I hate the saints...... they are one of my least favorite out of decision teams. That said, I see a very hard game this sunday. The vikings need to establish a run game against one of the worst defenses in the nfl, this includes handing the ball to Patterson. I have no idea why they didn't do it once in the Patriot s game. I thought the play calling was garbage that whole game. My prediction Vikings win 24-17. (Gotta stay positive in times of strife.)

I find nary a single redeemable quality in anything New Orleans ... not the city, not the state, not the fans, and certainly not that cheating, low-life, pond-scum of a professional football team known as the Aints.

Well, I guess I have to acknowledge that the food is pretty damn good.

I don't want analysis. I don't want speculation. I just want to beat the ever-living hell out of them. And while I never wish injury on a player, I will not shed a tear if Barr pummels Brees and knocks him out of the game for a little payback that is 4.5 years overdue.

LOL! As I read that first sentence, I was thinking, "Not even the food?"

In contrast, I was only in New Orleans once and I loved it: the architecture, the people, the food, even the Saints. I was there for business and had to work during the day on Saturday and Sunday. Fortunately, the Saints happened to be playing the jets on Sunday night. I got tickets at the stadium, went to the game with a friend and had a great experience. The fans were great and for that matter, all the people I met in NO were nice. I really don't have a bad thing to say about them.

Just a different perspective... :)

Anyway, regarding the football team: I've been a Drew Brees fan since he played for Purdue so I just can't hate the Saints. I don't even resent them for the 2009 championship game. I think the Vikes played too sloppy that day. IAs far as I'm concerned, they did as much to deprive themselves of a Super Bowl berth as the Saints did. That said, I do hope they crush the Saints on Sunday. I'm not counting in it, but I'd love to see it happen.

It's definitely a Jekyll and Hyde town.

When I was there for the NFCCG, we had a blast during the pre-game festivities, everyone was friendly. A lady in Saints gear leaned over to me at a restaurant and said "Thank you for visiting our city. And whatever happens tonight, just try to remember the hospitality you're experiencing now." Her foreshadowing did not register with me, probably thanks to the beer.

I got separated from my Viking friends when I stopped in the restroom after the game, where I began to bear witness to the very ugly side of that city and some of its fans, and later they told me a group of Saints fans "adopted" them as they were exiting the Superdome, inviting them to tailgate in the lot with them because "it would be much safer than walking around in Vikings gear."

Boy were they ever right.

I remember you describing some of your post-game experience that day and it wasn't pretty.

Our impressions of places are always determined by our personal experiences and it's a shame you had a bad one. I've said this before but I've been attending Bears games here in Vikings gear for years without a problem. People are almost always nice and the worst I suffer at a game is usually some good-natured ribbing. However, I've heard other (non-Bears) fans say they had horrible experiences attending games at Soldier Field. I guess they ran into the jerks. I'm glad I haven't but I'm sure they're out there. They're probably in every city.

I'm planning to go to the Bears/Vikings game at Soldier Field this November. Im not quite sure what to expect but I'm glad it's over a month away and not this weekend or soon. I think most Chicago fans would still be cool to visiting fans but with all that's going on with the Vikes right now, I don't envy any Vikes fan attending a road game.

We have no NDPs at practice today. Even Greenway is giving it a go with his broken left hand (in a flexible cast I assume). Can't say we are healthy but it looks like everyone will be available for Sunday. So there's that.

As far as I know we still have an open spot on our roster.
