But you dont draft a replacement after your starter is gone. Its best to have his replacement on hand before . If vikes. Take all defense and an o line in the first four rounds why not go after a rb. Even tho AP wont wanna share touches his career is probly extended if we could get a 1-2punch at rb and take some abuse off AP.

At running back you do. In any case, the Vikings aren't looking for a Peterson replacement, just a complement.
But they could probably start to look for another WR to replace Jennings and/or Simpson. Not sure if that can happen in the later rounds without a unusual amount of luck, but there may be some good low risk/high reward types available there that have a chance of panning out.
I think drafting a WR is very smart, in the mid-late rounds just in case. We have tons of depth at WR, but I just don't know if they'd plan on bringing Simpson back for another year in any event. It depends. He has the talent, but he never seems to produce at a very high level. I could even see Smith replacing him before the season starts, because that's how expendable he is.
I like a RB somewhere in there too because we need a 3rd down guy. The Vikes usually like versatile guys like Chester Taylor and Gerhart, and Carey fits that mold. I think we may go with a guy more like Darren Sproles, because we were apparently interested in him earlier on in the offseason and because Norv Turner loves those types of backs, and I see De'Anthony Thomas as that type of guy. He can catch, he can return, he can run, he can line up in the slot like Harvin... Very good player, but he stunk in the 40 compared to what some people thought he was capable of (4.5 is still pretty good).

We currently have nobody to compliment AP so we definitely need to draft a viable RB. As for WR, as deep as this class is, I think it is definitely possible we draft a late round WR

Gotta get someone to spell AD now anyways. Carey can do this. He can also block and is a huge threat as a receiver. I cant believe someone else has him in their mock even though we have AD. And what if AD gets hurt? Watch this guy play. Im not so sure we will have AD for the 8 more year or whatever people think hes going to last here. Think 3ish.

I agree. Carey could definitely take over down the road

This would be an ideal draft.! I'm pretty high on Mosely and Mett and have a big time man crush on Deone Bucannon haha. Of course, there are multiple scenarios that would be ideal, but this is certainly one of them. I personally prefer Murray to Mettenberger, but would be happy with either of them. I think Murray will be available later, which would allow us to nab another talented position player in round 2, but just my two cents.
