VY might be alright, but he probably sucks too.
Default is MBT

VY got cut for a reason, man. He won't get many more looks 'cept for teams in desperation because he doesn't understand NFL offenses...Have at it with jokes about Ponder, but Young is seriously well below Ponder with his football acumen.

Did you see Cassel play in NE? How many games have you seen MBT play? Cassel has experience. They are both statues in the pocket. With Cassel we can hope for this year. With MBT we are admitting this season is a loss. But then so is Ponder and I doubt he is going anywhere till week 6.

Is this "did you see Cassel play in NE" questin one of those lines that is supposed to convince me by jabbing at me?
If Cassel was truly the quarterback that we all saw in New England's system then KC surely would not have let him go. Coaching change or not. Ponder has made big plays with his legs and he's done it at some crucial times. People won't figure much about this, but you can't see what would've happened if it were with another guy back there. If it's Cassel...He's getting sacked or making a rushed throw that probably gets picked.
I don't want MBT as the starter, but if we're just gonna get loosey goosey at the QB position then it means this team his looking for that #1 pick, so may as well give an unknown a chance. If Don Majdsfkjsof never gets hurt then the world probably never knows Brett Favre.

I think I'd almost take a backup at random over that motley assortment.
We should have got Kyle Orton. I'd start Kyle Orton 100 times out of 100 over any of those guys.

The fact that Vince Young is somehow an option on this poll is laughable.

Oh man, it's worse than I thought. Ponder is so bad folks are actually advocating for Vince Young? The delusion is spreading lol. The poll is missing an "other" option because all 4 of these options are horrible. I voted for Ponder because we can't go into another off season uncertain.
But really I would choose Peyton Manning xD. MVPeterson + Vice MVP = multiple Lombardi's. Hey I can dream can't I?

Oh don't worry...I think we're certain now.

I don't know if Webb would be a good QB, but he certainly wasn't given the chances that Ponder has. One bad game in GB for Ponder (look up his 2012 stats in that game) earns him another dozen starts. One bad game in GB for Webb (when he had no prep time) and we change his position.
Well the reason for that is Ponder is Drafted to be the Franchise QB so he gets a free pass from Spielman, while Joe Webb is just an experiment he had some impressive games just not given the oppurtunites, i would suck in that playoff game if didn't take a snap all year and had no preperation. Joe was thrown to the wolves but no point now arguing what it could of been.

I wouldn't be too sure. VY has more football skills than Ponder, or it's close. Vince can at least run though, and he was also once touted as the future of the league type QB. He was an emotional wreck though, and might still be. But football skill wise, they're probably on par with each other, sadly.
Jamarcus Russell was
supposed to be a surefire quarterback and was one of the best pro prospects up to that point, in years.
That kind of stuff interests me, none.

well yeah I'm certain too, but that was more meant for the ones still waffling in undecided land

. They require irrational amounts of evidence, so I was just trying to throw em a bone.

In order for me to think someone is the long-term answer, I have to have confidence in them from week-to-week. Since Ponder was drafted, I have never felt like that. However, I've never felt that something like this is as easy as digging through old scraps trying to dust it off and shine it to make it look like a shiny centerpiece, when in fact it's not. Sorry for the weird analogy, but I feel we'd be doing a lot of chasing. Decisions were made and you can't go changing so early in the year. Not at quarterback. You ride with your guy or someone on your roster. Honestly, we're just going to have to ride this one out no matter how bad it could potentially get and worry about getting a new guy in the offseason if that's what is going to happen.

Until we do get a better QB all we can do now is hope that the coaches work to Ponder's strength. He's at his best when throwing a ball 10 or fewer yards. 13 of his TDs last season came from 10 or fewer yard passes. His completion percentages dramatically gets worse, the deeper he tries to throw the ball. Check the stats.
His best plays are screens, checkdowns, cross routes, and quick slants. He is not a gunslinger, and will never be one. We have to work within his skill set for now until we get a new QB. I hope the coaches can see that.

Joe Webb with a circus act playbook. Or a QB with the ability to stretch the field and manage clock/point deficits - not asking a lot.

I think Cassel is a little better but Ponder gives us a better chance to draft a high pick QB so I chose him.
