Who is injured beside the aging Kevin Williams, who plays fewer and fewer snaps each year?

Marvin Mitchell, Jerome Simpson, and Josh Robinson are starting mainly because they have more experience. This is the approach Frazier had been taking as soon as he's got here. I don't think neither of these guys have proved that they are worthy of a start but neither has our rookies. I lot of fans get so anxious to see the rookies play, but I think guys like Patterson and Rhodes are still trying to learn the system.

I remember how they said that injury Rhodes suffered in training camp kind of pushed him back, system wise but I think the Vikings will be playing a lot of nickel so he will be on the field a lot regardless. As for Patterson, I think the coaches are trying to give Simpson one more shot at the #2 spot since he was injured last season. I think Patterson will eventually start by midseason.

As for Marvin Mitchell. A shocker but again he's knows the system and I don't know if the coaches are really comfortable putting Bishop at a starting role so soon with uncertainty about his health. I think if he can prove that he can stay healthy during the season, he will eventually start.

I think the coaches are going with the safest approach for now.

Add to that Pattersons skill set and maybe Carlson can help more than last year. I'm not going to say they're good but solid.

Yes, I completely agree with you that there is more talent in the WR corps this season.

That said, I think Jennings' experience and smarts are going to be valuable. He should elevate the passing game, which means the team is better with him than without him. That's primarily why I'm really hoping he can remain healthy.

Yeah. Jennings makes the WR corps good. I'll let them prove to me they're great....hopefully.

I doubt Joe Webb will do much this season besides contribute on special teams. Unless one of our WRs goes down.

Also might make a nice part of the goal line package. Do you sell out to stop Adrian? Rudolph on the play action? or Webb on the jump ball?

They had a chance to do that when Harvin was here. Peterson, Webb, and Harvin. But as good as a goal line package sounds, I just have a feeling Bill Musgrave will be to stubborn to add that personnel package in the playbook.

They did it successfully in the preseason.

Webb in the red zone or short yardage is a legit threat IMO. He's the kind of guy that can burn you deep if you press him, plus there is a good chance he out jumps everyone for the ball.

I really think the is the year that Musgrave can open it up. The basics of his offense should be well understood by enough guys to implement some serious wrinkles.
