Don't you know? When we win, it's luck and a couple of good players (not named Ponder). When we lose, it's only Ponder, Frazier, Williams & Musgrave's fault. Oh, and dome wins don't count as much.
And our secondary can't tackle or cover, except they can make some plays on the ball.

But they suck. Except for some of them. But that has nothing to do with coaching, that's on them, probably getting lucky. But when they make bad plays, it's because of horrible coaching, duh. And our LBs are horrible. They can't generate pressure (bad players, horrible coaching), except when they do (luck, not a big deal, really) and only TACKLE (like that's important).
Our formula is pretty simple if you really don't think about it: Win = luck, Loss = horrible coaching + Ponder.
Oh and after a 3-13 season you're not a good coach unless you make the playoffs the next year. And because you can't see/hear Frazier's spark and leadership, it doesn't exist.
Really, it's not that hard to understand.

That's the post of the month!

Wow. Outstanding summation! Made me smile today!

For those calling for Musgrave's head...
while I am not sold on his ability as an OC, a couple things have to be taken into account.
First, before he was hurt, Harvin was having an All-Pro season. His production was astonishing and he had become a one-man Seal Team Six. Seriously, was there a more exciting player to watch in the NFL?
Well, maybe Adrian Peterson. Do you really think it's mere happenstance and only pure effort that are allowing him to threaten the 2000 yard barrier? Musgrave has done an admirable job getting him the ball and utilizing him more effectively as the season has progressed.
Finally, the Ol has been getting stunningly better throughout the season. Seriously, it has become quite and effective unit.
While Ponder has struggled mightily and the WRs have been... well... underwhelming, I think he has done quite well with the talent at hand. If Ponder somehow develops, or if the Vikings do nab a better QB and a true #1 WR, I really think we'll be looking at a very powerful offense.

Why put words in my mouth. If you want facts im game. Looks at Fraizers win/loss percentage for one. Its not really that hard to improve upon that is it? Even Meathead, with Red as HC and no a penny to spend, got fired with a 9-7 record. Oh yeah, its all Fraizers fault he inherited it. You sound like Obama. Fans gotta at least try and demand something from this team and its coaches or we will end up like usual, no SB victory and no QB. Not now, not in the future unless things change for the better.

Odd I would have thought that Obama was a Bears fan? What exactly is he saying about the Vikings?
In all seriousness, He doesn't reference you once in the post. If you think he is putting words in your mouth then I think that is more telling of what you think YOU yourself are saying. Also, leave the non sensical political anologies off the board please, I think they are only going to spark a hijacking.

There is quite a difference between demanding something and having a realistic chance of achieving it. Did you believe when this season began that this team would still be mathematically in the playoff hunt at this point? I sure didn't! And anyone who did would have been criticized for wearing purple colored glasses.
I expected 6 wins, tops. They have surpassed that expectation already. And they did it with the "obvious" disadvantage of having Ponder at QB. Unless, of course, you believe that it is not Ponder's lack of ability, but a complete breakdown in coaching that has caused the Vikings problems at QB. For me, looking at how the rest of the team has progressed, it seems like coaching is not an issue.
Did you expect a Super bowl this season? Really? Was it realistic to expect it, much less demand it? Consider this... if the Vikings progress in the same manner next season as they did this season, they could be looking at an 11 win season. I don't think that is unrealistic. Possibly a little optimistic, but considering the excellent job the coaching staff and front office have done this season, I see it as a real possibility. They have taken a team ravaged by injuries, stocked with inexperience (five rookies contributing significantly), and sporting a hugely underwhelming QB and have managed to stay in the playoff hunt.
Not only am I demanding excellence, I am getting it. The fact it isn't coming sooner than ASAP doesn't cause my enthusiasm to flag. The fact that I see real and fundamental improvement in many aspect over the season gives me tremendous hope. And I don't think any other coach could have worked any more magic than I have seen from Frazier and Co. this season.

No I expected 6 wins this season, and we have 7. We may get more if Texas and GB clinch their spots before we play them. And yes a expect a HC in his 3rd year to at least double the worst record in vikings history. Even Childress could do that, and more right? And he's the idiot responisble for all of Fraizers problems right?
We see things differently. I see nothing from Fraizer that makes me thankful hes our guy and will be back next year. Have you listened to his press conferences? Sounds like hes talking to high scgool kids, not grown men. I want to see him in the official face sometimes after bad calls. An emotionless roboot on the sideless, that doesnt even call plays, or Time outs at the right time, or manage the clock just isnt my cup of tea. Now if this team shows some improvement over the next few weeks and we end up in the playoffs, I may change my mind. But him sticking with Ponder like he stuck with McNabb isnt what I call good coaching.

PurpleKoolaid wrote:3 wins. Our coaching staff is basically unchanged. And unlike a lot here, i do think average players can look like talented players with the right coaching. Hopefully Fraizer is gone from this team a year from now. And we still have Ponder, even if he has more time passing, I expect nothing from him.
I do think with Spielamn in charge now and accountable 2 years from now we could be a 9-10 win team and maybe sneak in the playoffs. But this year is going to be as hard as last.
And this is me being optimistic. Im starting to have a little faith Spielman has a plan.

Fraizer has to go sometime this year if things go like it looks like they are going. We are still the worst blitzing team i have ever seen.
The next time we see Ponder, he will most likely be playing at home against Jacksonvile, and we could very well loose that game.

Frazier has done a solid job. Look at the corners this team is working with. Erin and Brinkley 7th round/undrafted. Finally got a solid safety.
Can't believe they'd keep Musgrave though. Like the guys done anything worth keeping his job. Short of giving him credit for AD's brilliance.
If they don't break .500 next year, blow the thing up.

What if we dump a great coach in return for a great coach? Give the guy a chance? He's turned around the season in one year. This is his first year as the official head coach.

I disagree. He saw just hwo horrible our secondary was while interm HC, and didnt do a thing about it. in fact, he said nothing was wrong with it.
