Pancaked!

Thanks for the link.

They need to re-sign Felton.

What's interesting to watch is how few times Peterson actually follows the fullback. Or, for that matter, how few times he goes through the hole that a running play is designed for. The run blocking this year is really a lot worse than you'd imagine with the league's leading rusher on the team. Peterson makes his own yardage. If he doesn't get stuffed, he powers through defenders for five yards. If he gets to the second level, it's 10-12 yards, and with a missed tackle, he's gone.

I must admit, I thought Felton was another signing that wasn't going to pan out. Boy, I am sure glad I don't make decisions for this team at times. Felton has been a tremendous player for us and he is playing great football right now.

While we agree Felton's addition is a plus for the running game,we have to give credit to the Oline. This season Vikings Oline is much better at run blocking then pass blocking imo.

Was looking at the stats just to see what he's done recently & how much left he'd need to have, Peterson needs to average 165 yards a game over the final 4 games to break Dickerson's rushing record of 2105 rushing yards.

His average over the last 4 games? 167.75

Interesting! That record is definitely within reach. I'd love to see him break it.

...coming off a torn ACL/MCL finally one year removed. What he's already done is nothing short of remarkable. Imagine if the Vikings had a few more leads and were able to give him carries in the 4th quarter...

2000 yards wouldn't be a record. The record is 2105 yards.

My bad. Need more coffee.

I sometimes wonder how many fans of mediocre to bad NFL teams wouldn't be perfectly happy to go 1-15 as long as their Adrian Peterson sets a rushing record, or their Jared Allen gets 20 sacks. Sells jerseys, I suppose.

I don't think too many fans are happy with mediocre-to-bad seasons but most can appreciate a great performance by a great player even if the team is struggling. If Peterson actually manages to run for 2000 yards this season or if he breaks the single season rushing record, it would take a pretty cynical (or at least singleminded) sort of fan to fail appreciate that, even if the Vikes only had 6 or 7 wins. Heck, it would take a pretty cynical sort of fan to fail to appreciate what he's already accomplished this season!

Well we do play the Packers again, maybe he should go for 300, we probably couldn't lose that one!

There's no doubt that Felton is playing great. I have a different dimension in mind right now as to why Peterson's average is back up. Because the defenses are not respecting the passing threat. The safetys are playing closer to the line of scrimmage. I know it doesn't make sense, but think about it. Peterson breaks past the linebackers and there is almost no one between him and the end zone. It's almost the same as when we had Tjoke. When Favre played for us, the safteys were much deeper and were able to react better to Peterson breaking out.
