It's hard to make a prediction on Monday when Stafford's health status is unknown. If he's healthy he could make mincemeat out of our secondary, but Hill is still a serviceable backup provided that Johnson, Burleson and his other receivers help him out a little bit. It's hard to read what the Lions run D is like because there's something a little more going on in Tennessee with Chris Johnson I think, but the 49ers had success running the ball against them so there is the potential for that.

Gonna go with Vikes 30 - Lions 20.
I just don't think they're very good. I think they have the scariest WR in football to cover and perhaps a slightly above average D-line but other than that there just isn't that much to be afraid of. Their defense gave up 44 points to the tennessee Titans who in their first 2 games put up 13, and then 10.
On top of that they're 1-2 and BARELY beat an awful rams team at home, this should be the year the Lions return to the cellar of the NFC north imo.

I'm going with the same thing I predicted against the Niners. Lions win by 35. 42-7. Vikings get 7 in garbage time.
(Hey, it worked last time.)

So breakdown of predictions...
50 Percent say Vikings
20 Percent say Lions
30 Percent are going for a reverse jinx.

My only prediction for a loss (not only a loss, but a 17-20 point loss) this year was the 49ers. That was the Vikings best game so far this season. Hmmmmmmmm
I predict a
HUGE LOSS for the Vikings against Detroit

Well played!

Vikes 47
Lions 5
Lions, we're coming for you. Our style is impetuous. Our defense is impregnable, and we're just ferocious. We want your heart. We want to eat your children. Praise be to Allah!
(Am I doing it right? I'm new to this homer stuff

As much as I had a gut feeling about the upset over the Niners, I just can't peg down a feeling on this one. A rebuilding Vikings team on the road? Sorry, I can't predict a win, even in the afterglow of this great victory...
Vikings 17
Lions 20
Maybe a slight fall back to earth for Ponder, the OL, and the secondary. But Blair Walsh hits another 50+ yard FG.

After that awesome win on Sunday, I'm trying real hard to remain grounded as to my hopes for this team. I don't want to let them suck me back in, only to break my heart again.
I also need to see this team show me something on the road before I'll be willing to buy in. They miserably failed their only road test this year, and it was against a terrible team.
So for those two reasons, I'll go with Lions 34, Vikings 23.
Oh, and there's another teeny tiny, miniscule, insignificant, practically irrelevant reason for my prediction:
CALVIN JOHNSON AGAINST THE VIKINGS SECONDARY
CALVIN JOHNSON AGAINST THE VIKINGS SECONDARY
CALVIN JOHNSON AGAINST THE VIKINGS SECONDARY
CALVIN JOHNSON AGAINST THE VIKINGS SECONDARY
CALVIN JOHNSON AGAINST THE VIKINGS SECONDARY
CALVIN JOHNSON AGAINST THE VIKINGS SECONDARY

The real question is...
Which team is more likely to get sodomized by the Mob, I mean the refs?
The Vikings returning to glory while the Lions return to the cellar seems a likely storyline.
Vikings by at least 3 terrible referee decisions.

After the Challenge Fiasco we deserve at least two hilariously bad make-good calls in our favor.

The Vikes will be decided underdogs playing away and I do not forsee them winning this game. That being said, with Simpson now in the line-up, this should bolster the down field threat and in pre-season play, noodle arm seemed to have developed some chemistry with him.
This is a "rebuilding team" and I have not lost sight of that fact so a win would bode quite well and I would be overwhelmed with joy if they pulled this off.
