He's been playing so well in the field and at the plate lately that it would be stupid to put him back in his previous role. He's proven that he can be an every day player. Move him to left and make Young the DH? But then, what do you do with Thome?
Lots of scenarios to ponder.
I hope Span goes down. Maybe after he is down hitting in the minors for a while, he can come back up. But Im all for having Cuddeyer, Kub, Young, and Repko in the OF. If Span can get his bat back like last season at times, then send Repko down. I know it wont happen, but thats what Id prefer. Keep Kub in and switch Thome, Mauer, and Kub at DH, depending on who is down. Im sure Mauer will DH tonight with Pavano pitching.

If you want to get really pissed off, read some of the comments after the article "Morneau's Return Key to it All" on Startrib.com. Some people are so incredibly ignorant and just plain stupid. I can't believe some of the things being said about Justin Morneau. Obviously the guy has a very serious problem with concussions, and it is beginning to look like his season, and I wouldn't call it a stretch to say his career, may be over, and these people are bashing him like he just murdered his own kids or something. Unreal.

Report: Gardy doubts Morneau will play this year
StarTrib wrote:
In his weekly appearance on 1500 ESPN (AM 1500) Friday, manager Ron Gardenhire spoke briefly about first baseman Justin Morneau, who has been sidelined since July 7 with a concussion.
When asked for an update, Gardenhire said, "I don't see how it can possibly happen for him," regarding a September or October return.
Gardenhire added, "I hope I'm wrong."
STAFF REPORT
Well this confirms what many of us have been thinking already. I hope that he is wrong, as well, but I really think we may have seen the last of Mr. Morneau, for his career as well.

Yeah, unfortunately, this kind of thing can take quite some time to get better or just never get better. For his own health, he's probably best to hang it up. Always sad to see a guy of his talents cut off early.

Poor guy. Does anyone know what he plans on doing as a secondary career?

Does anyone recall anyone else in any sport that has had something similar happen? This seems pretty weird unless there's some other issue at work, something more serious, but if that's the case you think they would have said something by now. Strange.

Sure, Da Bears shut Hunter Hillenmeyer down for the season for the same reason, concussions.

Yep, he got a concussion against the Lions in Week 1 and they put him on IR.
