yes. the generation today is soft. playing football in below zero weather again would be awesome. it wouldnt happen until december or the playoffs anyways.

Maybe, maybe not. Regardless, its a fact that we have trouble selling out games and attempting to sell tickets to games where people will have to sit in below freezing weather with snow for 3+ hours WILL NOT help you sell tickets, it will make it harder. Do you WANT the team to move????

Okay, so you're saying we need a retractable roof because fans won't sit in the freezing cold for 3 hours to watch a game. They already sit in heated comfort AND THE GAMES ARE STILL NOT SELLING OUT. Whether we have a roof or not is not the problem here. It's that the fans have no faith in the Vikings anymore. Get us a coach we feel will go all out to win games and tickets will sell. Get us a coach who can win more than one game against the Packers in three years and games will sell out. Get us a coach who will bring the excitement back and games will sell out.
And, no, I don't want the team to move. That's not the issue here. The issue is winning. That's how you sell tickets.

Coulda sworn we were 10-6 last year with 6 Pro Bowl players, the most amazing RB in the league with one of the best defenses in the NFL.....and we still couldnt sell tickets.

Oh come on. We started slow and you know it. Childress hasn't exactly been the best coach, and his teams have not exactly been playing to their potential.
In the first half of last season we had trouble selling games. The second half, when we were winning, we had no problem.
And anyway, how do you explain the corporate help needed to avoid blackouts?

We had a helluva time even selling out the playoff game in case you dont remember, only half of the season ticket holders bought their tickets for that game and they needed 2 extensions from the NFL to avoid the blackout but ya you and Dawn are right, building an open air stadium wont have any negative effect at all on ticket sales.

minnesota can get alot colder than green bay, chicago, or new england. having an open stadium again in minnesota would be a huge advantage....especially against todays players.
youre right, winning sells tickets. vikings fans are tired of a mediocre team that is one and DONE in the playoffs. if childress has another mediocre season...... get us shanahan, holmgren, pete carroll, cowher, or schottenheimer......AND THEY WILL COME.

Why do you assume it would be a huge advantage for the Vikings? The Vikings have played in the Herbert H. Humphrey Metrodome... for nearly 30 years.
And I seem to recall them playing better in warm weather and in domes than outdoors and in the cold. Why do we dread playing Green Bay in Lambeau or the Bears in the winter? Because we have a better chance of winning in a dome.

i'd love too see tony romo, kurt warner, drew brees, matt ryan.....try to beat the vikings with adrian peterson running with the ball in a -10 below playoff game in january. unfortunately it will never happen.
players and fans today are too soft.

it actually rained fairly hard on monday here
pretty strange weather for California. I would love a mild summer
though but i doubt we get a whole summer of cooler temps.

We leave on Saturday to spend the whole month in Florida...think I'll have some problems with heat by chance?
