Actually, in the movie 'Leatherheads', the Duluth team is known as the 'Bulldogs'. And it's only loosely based on the Eskimos. The movie comes out April 4th.
In any case, George Clooney and Renee Zellweger will be in Duluth to talk about the movie. Alas, the only public appearance they will be making will be when they leave the press conference at the Depot.

The Eskimos had more than three name changes. The team was originally known as Kelley-Duluth from 1923-1925. In 1926, they became the Duluth Eskimos for two years. The team then moved to New Jersey and bacame the Orange Tornados in 1929. In 1930, they moved to Newark and became the Newark Tornados. In 1932, the team became the Boston Braves, then in 1933, they became the Boston Redskins. On February 13, 1937, the team made its final move to Washington DC. Where it remains.

You can get all the information you'd ever want in the new book 'Leatherheads of the North, the True Story of Ernie Nevers and the Duluth Eskimos', by Chuck Frederick. It's available at : http://x-communication.org/

The Monkey's Uncle!
I thought Annette Funicello was a babe when I was young. Of course, I was much too young fer her, but she was so darn cute.
Hmmm, come to think of it, my wife looks a lot like her.

All good but the original Longest Yard was pretty terrible(probably because i expected to be so much better), i liked the newer version much better, priceless ending "That's a week in the hotbox!

Probably wait for it to come to TV. I'm really not into romantic comedies. But, people who have seen it up here in Duluth say it's pretty good.

BTW, George Clooney and Renee Zellweger were in Duluth on Monday to promote 'Leatherheads'. They had a press conference at the Depot, after arriving on one of the trains.
George Clooney: "I sort of know about small towns. [He grew up in a small town in Kentucky.] That's why it was important for us to come back here to say thanks for letting us play a part with this town. There's something really fun about the small [of the early NFL]. This one just seemed to have much larger, deeper roots, and I think that's why the original screenplay was written [about Duluth].
George Clooney: "We wanted to shoot it [the movie] here, but it was February. Apparently, from what I understand, it's cold here in February."
Clooney filled us in on why the team in the movie isn't called the Eskimos. The NFL wouldn't let them use the name because there's drinking in the movie. So, he decided to name the team after his pet bulldog and didn't find out until later about the UMD mascot. He then congratulated the UMD Women's hockey team on winning the National Championship.

Any Given Sunday
Hands down, the best football movie I've seen and I've seen almost all.
Futbol however, I'd go with either Goal: The Dream Begins, Green Street Hooligans, or perhaps Victory
