@lpeterson830 #Viking GM Rick Spielman just told Chad and @SidHartman on @wccoradio "they are NOT trading Adrian Peterson". Pretty clear. #AdrianPeterson

I'm not sure how I feel about you considering that "classic Jim". :)

Honestly, I was just trying to make a less-than-literal point myself, which is that Peterson has yet to fail to "go to work" for the Vikings when he's been healthy and eligible to do so.

Pelissero spent draft night with Dogra and Relativity Sports agency. Few things on AP from his column:
Dogra gets a call from Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson, who wants to know where things stand on a possible draft-night trade before getting on an airplane. Dogra tells him to stay quiet.

Sitting at No. 24, the Arizona Cardinals are the only team that might consider offering a first-round pick for Peterson. If that doesn't happen, the best Dogra can do is try to drum up a second-round offer. And fewer trades at the top could mean fewer suitors with extra picks to burn.

"Let me take the bullet," Dogra tells Peterson. "I need you on the plane to relax, have a cocktail and work Larry Fitzgerald" – another Relativity client, as well as Peterson's friend and the face of the Cardinals organization, who just might have the owner's ear.
Despite Dogra's encouragement to Cardinals GM Steve Keim, Peterson remains a Viking. The phone rings again with Peterson's number, but it turns out to be a pocket dial.

Looks like he sent that weird cryptic tweet out after he was told everything was quiet on the trade front. Unless Dogra was joking, they were going as far as trying to get Fitz to get the Cardinals to offer up a 1st round pick. Gotta appreciate the effort, I guess.

Thanks for the link. That was a really interesting read and it illustrated a dynamic between agents and GMs on draft day that I wasn't aware of previously.

Ben Dogra, who has made a bit of a spectacle of himself as the Peterson saga has played out this offseason, now is very impressed that the Vikings didn't trade Peterson (huh?) and just wants a new contract from the Vikings (ohhhhhh).

"One of the things that I appreciate with the Vikings is their resolve to say 'we're not trading him,'" Dogra told Tom Pelissero of USA Today. "That tells me they value him not only as a football player, but what he's done for the organization.

"I actually, as an agent, not only appreciate it — I accept it. But actions speak louder than words. If that's going to happen, and you want to keep him, then show him a commitment to make him retire as a Viking. And I haven't had that solution."

Ummmm Ben, that's why they gave him that long-term extension, which he still has three years left on. Yeah, they want to keep him.

I hope I'm wrong, but I can see AD sitting out if he doesnt get exactly what he wants. In his mind, he worth more then he will get, and he listens to his dishonest agent, Droga. On the bright side, if AD does play, we are going to see what Teddy is made off. Well, if the Vikings get a guard.

He already lost millions of dollars missing last season. I highly doubt he sits out and loses more money

My favorite part of the draft so far is that AD is still in Purple. I won't totally believe it all until he plays his first snap in San Francisco, but it is nice to have him here. I Can't wait to see what he can do!!

This fact cannot be understated, getting AD back is the most important aspect to this year's team. Maybe not for the long term but without any doubt for this year and maybe next year too.

So much of the 'dislike' for AD, is really dislike for everything Droga has said. And the way he's handled the press. AD did wrong, imo he got screwed too. By the NFL, not the Vikings. Either way, if AD plays for the Vikes in game 1, everything will be forgotten, and we will see what the best RB in the league has in store for the defenses we meet.

Dogra speaks on behalf of his client who still hasn't fired him for speaking out of turn so it's safe to assume Peterson supports his agents comments.

I personally was hoping for a trade.

Ideally to a team that would have the least chance of biting us in the #### (Brown, Raiders) but I am completely fine with AP coming back.

I don't agree with some of the things said or done by AP. But that said, he did what he had to do to correct the mistake he made. At this point all I really see him being guilty of is trying to get a better contract. Not to say he isn't being very well compensated. But he seemed to have taken the chains off his agent to play for the big payday. He was on shaky ground and it can be viewed as a little out of touch to try but hey, you miss 100% of the shots you dont take right?

If he stays and he plays his best and keeps his nose clean I will have no trouble letting bygones be bygones.

AD will be greatly relieved to know that you will forgive him, if he keeps his nose clean

Sounds like everything is good on the Peterson front, that he's accepting he'll have to play for the Vikings and earn his 13 million. I'd gain a ton of respect for AD again if he came out and fired Dogra and made a public statement that he's excited to get back to football and play for the Vikings again but I won't hold my breath haha.
