I would love to have Williams and sign him to an extension but maybe we can go after PETERS and sign him to a 2-year deal that ay we do not loose any picks and players...if we do not act we may lose a chance for either

I understand where you coming from about Peters. Personally I prefer Williams myself. Peters has been injured and beat up alot more on the past few seasons.
I seems that Williams is actually healthier and at this point actually better.
But I just worry that Washington is gonna just try and be ridiculous in what they want in compensation. I would have no problem of we threw Reiff and draft picks to get him. But I see then them trying to get Harris included in the deal , which I definitely think is just too much to lose right now.
If it came came down to the fact that there is no way we can make the William's trade, I guess peters would be an option, but like I said I wouldn't be as thrilled with it as I would have been in the past 3 or 4 seasons.
I just hate having to sit here every say wondering about it .
But then again, it's also kind of a good distraction to take the mind off all the bad stuff happening right now

I'm kind of hoping with new coach and front office they would try and change that type of crap and do what they have to to make a deal, with us trying to sign Harris to a long term deal I can see him being traded to the Skins. They have franchise tagged Branden Scherff so if Harris is signed thats good for them, plus frees up Harris money for us.Just my thought tho..

I hope Vikings will pass on Peters, he is too injury prone

That happens when you are 53.

If we do not get Williams bring in Peters. We need to protect Cousins...then we can concentrate on either bringing in playmakers or go defense in the first round

Short personal text indicating Cleveland is working hard at working out deals to land William's, and another different team mow in the mix also. We may have actually wait until the draft eve of actual draft day to see how this ends up, or it may possibly a smokescreen. Just IM patiently waiting

To give up 3 first round picks and an elite safety for #2? To draft what? Chase young? We have way too many holes and by trading all those picks away, it would drastically put us behind because not only are we low on cap but we would be trading away all of our draft capital.
I totally agree PHP, but that would be the cost of trading up to 2. That's why we shouldn't consider it.
Need a rookie QB to open a championship window. Should be able to recoup at least a 2nd for Kirk Cousins the following year. I like Herbert.

Doesn’t make any difference who the qb is. You need an offensive line and we have a lot of holes. I don’t care if it’s Cousins, Brady, Mahommes or Herbert, you are going to need time to get rid of the ball. I think for a 150M qb, we might get more than a 2nd. Just a calculated guess.
These rookie qb’s (if they are championship caliber, need mentoring.

After reading the opinions of Stump and Fiestavike I think other teams will require we give them a second or first round pick to take Cousins off our hands.

The offensive line gave the QB the most time to throw in the NFL last season. Brady doesn't require that much time, he gets rid of the ball quickly to compensate for his lack of mobility, and Mahomes has us winning the SB last season behind that line.
There is room to upgrade there, I do think a rookie would struggle behind that line, and clearly it still wasn't good enough for Cousins. It just wasn't so bad Mahomes, Brady, Brees, Rodgers or Wilson don't hide some of its flaws better.

Been there done that. It’s a flawed stat. You try and make it sound like he had a good pass blocking OL. He didn’t, in any way, shape or form. The heavy play action and rollouts made that next gen stat look a lot better than it actually was. This OL is bad, especially at pass blocking outside of O’Neill. It’s obvious to everyone

You don’t. Drafting a rookie QB in the first this year, especially if it requires a massive trade up does nothing but put us drastically behind. We lose valuable draft capital and will struggle to fill so many holes.
You need a good TEAM. Period. Pretty sure the 49ers didn’t have to draft a QB to open a SB window. They just put a great team around an average QB. And also had great coaching on both sides of the ball

Cousins is pressured a lot because he holds the ball too long. Everyone can see that too.
I get you don't want to acknowledge the number, it kind of makes Cousins look like he might be a part of the issues on the line, but the time a line is asked to hold their blocks should be considered when looking at how much pressure they give up, no?
I mean, if the QB holds the ball longer than any QB in week 16 (which he did by quite a bit), a QB who is not a scrambler, and gets pressured a lot, can't we kind of point the finger at the QB for those pressures?
Here are some other fun stats from Cousins time as a Viking:
Wins: 11th out of 22 with qualifying starts
GWDs: 1 which is good for 22nd
4QCs: Tied for 18th with 2
Man is he making an impact.

Stump continually goes to that BS stat that the line gave Cousins the most time to throw in the NFL last year. They actually didn't do anything close to that. Found this on Twitter.
If you dive deeper into the actually numbers for the OL, which is time he has in the POCKET, which was a rough 2.2, he has those three in roll outs etc which we run a lot to buy him time. 2.2 seconds is the 5th worst in the NFL where the average is 2.6.
It was Cousins on rollouts and bootlegs creating the extra time.
