Well, as I wrote above, Soldier Field isn't like that or at least i haven't seen that in my 20 years of attending games there. That wasn't my experience at games in New Orleans, Indianapolis or Minnesota either. The Saints and Colts games weren't against the Vikes so I wasn't wearing Vikes gear at those games but in all 3 of those places, I saw fans of opposing teams wearing gear to support their team and none of them were mistreated. At worst, they got teased a little and it wasn't nasty, mean-spirrited stuff, it was just good fun.

I wore a John Randle Vikes jersey to the Super Bowl in 2000. That was the year the Vikes were crushed in the NFCC game by the Giants and although Giants fans made some comments, nobody was really out of line. I got the last laugh, of course, since I cheered for the Ravens and they stomped NY. :)

In other words, I think it's okay to wear an opposing team's jersey to a game but it's probably wise to do a little research first and you definitely can't go in with an attitude and be thin-skinned. That said, I don't think I'd show up to a Vikes road game in Oakland or Philly wearing a Vikes jersey and I'm not sure I'd do it Green Bay either. The one time I went to a Vikes/Packers game was in the '80s (sadly, during Les Steckel's year as head coach). That game was in Milwaukee, not Green Bay, which may have made a difference but there were Packers fans throwing beer (and even a bottle) at Vikings fans. I was appalled but that was a long time go. Hopefully, that garbage doesn't go on at Lambeau.

Sure, I got heckled but it was all in fun since I was an educated football fan and they always seemed to respect it.
Cool. That's how it should be...
In every day situations, however, I have gotten ridiculed for wearing my Vikings gear out on the streets and not on game days. I've stopped wearing my purple out and about unless it's game day or I'm at Lambeau.

So, the average Packer fan sucks. But the Packer fans who go to Lambeau seem somewhat respectful. I'm guessing the Milwaukee fans fell under the "average fan" category back when they played in MKE.
You may be right. Thanks for adding your experiences to the discussion!

Hey, whoever gets the coaches tape, can you post or make a gif of Ellison's block at the 4th quarter at around the 10:43 mark (4th-and-inches play)? Apparently he destroyed Bears safety Chris Conte. Apparently Ellison flat-backs and de-helmets him (while Peterson either steps on or over him). I...I...I kinda want to see that. :o

Thanks!

I have no idea how to make a GIF of the play but remind me tomorrow and I'll be happy to capture a few shots of the play. I want to see that too!

Great block, but I think Peterson would have had the 1st down anyway. Fusco and Loadholt opened a good hole, and I seriously doubt that Conte would have stopped Peterson with a full head of steam.

BTW, how badly is Ellison hurt? I'm amazed we don't see more of him at FB while Felton is out (and after he returns). Ellison is the real deal, while Line is undersized at the position.

Oh that was the block I mentioned during the game but attributed it to Line as the only good block I saw him make

2 more years and 10% of a normal playbook. We'll know then...
