And that can be both a dangerous thing for opposing defensive coordinators or a liability for the Vikings. One thing Peterson has been guilty of throughout his career (particularly early on) is being too impatient and waiting for his blockers. I think there was a bit of that in week 1. He's obviously the best talent on the field, but I'm more concerned with that than whether or not he's going to be in game shape.

Totally agree with you about week 1 and your concerns about his patience. They can work with that with the plays they call for him, maybe? Keep him from stretching things out laterally until he's burned off some off that angst. Who knows? Just glad for the possibility at the moment.

and to the tweets you posted; good for him and his family, this is looking like the kind of outcome I was hoping for, where everyone involved grows and heals a bit. Even us fans...perhaps.

Sometimes it's a good thing and sometimes it's a bad thing but the NFL has always been like a "brotherhood", they stick by each other through thick and thin no matter what. Even when Icognito was doing all that he was doing most of the team stood by him so I have / had 0% doubt that they wouldn't welcome Adrian back with open arms. Especially when so many of the players supported Adrian at the very time this all came out / started.

I'm excited.

I'm honestly really pumped about this and to see how this team can perform with the best RB in the game back on the team. It's good to see the players are behind him

From the beginning of this episode, i decided that however this turned out, I would accept the outcome. At the beginning, I felt that they would quickly come to a plea agreement, suspend Peterson for a good portion of the season, and then try to resurrect his image (even with his hefty contract). When that didn't happen immediately, I then thought whatever happened, then it was the way it should be.

I feel very conflicted about Peterson. Pity for him because his actions were so ignorant, and disappointment and anger for the very same reason. The twelve-year-old in me, I admit, wants him back running the ball. But that's such a small piece of the equation now. The adult in me would accept if he never played another down, for the Vikings or another NFL team. His actions were his alone, after all, and he has to face the consequences. I do believe in second chances, and, hopefully, I'll be able to look at him through a lens that isn't tainted, or tainted as much as it is presently, at some point. My view of him has be altered permanently, but I hope that he learns from this and become a better, more responsible parent. It doesn't rally matter what my yardstick is in regards to how I think he should move on from this, so I won't bother elaborating on it.

So, here's my point ... I can easily understand if someone doesn't want him on the team any longer. In the same vein, I understand if someone is willing to accept him back. That's what fans do. I suspect that if he returns to the field wearing purple, that I'll get excited as hell when he breaks off a big gain. But carrying the ball isn't the most important thing I'll be cheering on Adrian Peterson to do any longer.
