I know his feeling. The password to my laptop is CPONDER7... plus I ALSO have a Ponder jersey.. I have not worn it yet but I bought it the same year we drafted him. But here's where you definitely are gonna laugh, along with the Ponder jersey I HAVE A MCNABB JERSEY. :wallbang: :wallbang: I bought that one along with the Ponder jersey but I thought McNabb was gonna be good. I will forever disdain McAwful, thinking he was going to take us somewhere. What a waste of $60 and he didn't even last a full season with the team at that..lol :steamed:
 This makes my life! That is hilarious! You were very, very critical of Ponder, too. McNabb too, I'm sure. And you bought their jerseys?! Why is this the first I'm hearing of this?!? That's funny! I don't even have a Ponder jersey, and he's my boy. I'm selective of my jersey buying. They are a lot of money, and I don't wear them too often anyway. I'm more about the team than I am individual players. I have so many Vikings shirts I should probably seek help about it. People ask me if I own anything else besides Vikings clothes. lol. If I do go the jersey route with our new jersey style, I'll probably go with the personalized one (like on my avatar). Free agency sucks! I know I'll never leave the team, so I go for personalized stuff or team stuff more than anything. I don't wanna get screwed over! For instance, I was finally thinking about getting a Harvin jersey...glad I didn't! ;)

Good luck with your McNabb and Ponder jerseys!

I'll enjoy my Favre and Jackson ones. LOL.

We are fancy. We should stick with the Peterson jerseys just to be safe. ;)

I buy jersey's as collectable items, not for wearing. If I do wear a jersey, its only during gametime. I usually wear my Moss jersey because everytime I put on my Peterson jersey we lose... I had a Percy Harvin jersey but I burned it. Yes I know thats a lot of money I just threw away but I felt like it was needed to be done. I was hurt after Harvin decided to leave, and I really just thought about keeping his jersey... But I couldn't. I was too upset. He left us hanging so I dont want his jersey nowhere near me.

if the passing game does improve (ponder is obviously the main factor) it will also depend a lot on how effective patterson is. in looking at everything i've read, it seems they primarily plan on using him for special teams. i know he is a rookie, but you don't trade 3 picks for a guy to return kicks/punts. we had wright and simpson last season (simpson was useless) and you could make the claim that driver is about an even exchange for harvin. so, my question is, without patterson playing a major role in the passing game how much better have our receiving corps really gotten?

A little bit better than you think--because we have Jennings and not Driver. ;)

But yes, Patterson needs to be involved significantly for it to be a serious upgrade.

my bad, i'm sure you know i meant jennings. driver was in the headlines today that was the cause for the freudian slip.

I have nothing against Ponder ...

several games he played excellent SF, Texans, and second GB game IMO

several games he looked like a bag of something set on fire and left on someones porch

I say if we get two or three games where he has less than 150 yards and picks he should have to compete
for playing time without a doubt.. not fair to AP and the rest of the team to lose games because we are
waiting for his development ... Shoot many QB's have played much better with far less time to learn..

Ponder was recently on Sirius XM NFL Radio:

There's not much to the interview but if you need a small Vikes fix here in the dog days of the offseason...

LOL! Oh, I hear it...

I just made the comment above because I've seen that phrase applied to Ponder many, many times this offseason and I made a comment a while back along the lines of "If I had a dollar for every time someone said "no excuses" in regards to Ponder..."

Jeez most of the cynics had given him zero chance from the day he was drafted. So in his second year, as a full time starter, there will not be any excuses allowed what so ever

I know I’m wasting internet space by repeating this, but I’m bored today…

Ponder is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. IMO, the goal this year is to go as “Hyde Free” as possible. We can’t afford a 6 game stretch of Hyde.

To be honest though, I think “Re-Adjustment” was at least part of the Mr. Hyde mid-season slump last year. The OG got worked and it took a few games for them to get the protection back in order. The PH injury hurt as it left the WR cupboard pretty much bare. And most certainly, Ponder sucked it up. Still, despite the “mess” the team also bounced back, including Ponder, who put up a stellar December. That to me shows that the Ponder story isn’t over yet, even if no one in the media and most folks on here won’t give him any credit. His QB coach said it best “He’s seen him do everything they want him to do on film and they’ve seen him do everything they don’t want him to do.” So which is it going to be?

All the haters needs to recognize that past stats are not always a guarantee of future performance. If they were Chris Carter would never have been signed my Dennis Green and John Sullivan would have been cut 4 years ago.

Jaws QB rankings: Christian Ponder No. 27

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_ ... nder-no-27
Here's a portion of Jaworski said about Ponder:

"The arrow is pointing upward as Ponder begins his third season as the Vikings starter.

"Ponder fits the profile so many are now talking about: the athletic movement quarterback who can beat you with his legs. Ponder is an opportunity runner, and he's shown the ability to burn some of the best defenses in the league.

"Ponder needs to make significant improvements as a pocket passer. Surprisingly, with Adrian Peterson in the backfield, he was not efficient off play-action. Ponder also had a tendency to be a beat late with his throws. At this point, he doesn't see the whole field with clarity and that led to too many throws into the teeth of the coverage.

"And he must execute versus the blitz much better than he did in 2012.

"You know what statistic really bothered me? Ponder had only 28 completions of 20 yards or more -- by far the fewest of any 16-game starter. I saw one in Week 17 that I really liked. It was a shot play, first-and-10 play-action out of base personnel.

"Overall, I like Ponder's skillset. He has plus arm strength with the ability to make every single throw. The Vikings have now provided Ponder with more weapons on the outside. [The 2013 season] is an important season for the third-year quarterback. It's time to play more consistently from the pocket. If Ponder does that, he could well be in my top 20 next year."
