Re: Peterson and his 2,500 yard goal.
My guess right now would be he ends up with about 1,700 yards on the season.
How far off is that from his goal of 2,500?
50 yards a game.

Would be absolutely awesome if we got to 2,000 this year on a LOSING team.
Pull yr 84 jerseys out.
Re: Peterson and his 2,500 yard goal.
I'm not doubting him, I'm talking him up. We play some pretty tough run defenses the rest of the way, but it wouldn't surprise me if he still reaches 2000. If Cassel plays, the defenses have to play more honest and that opens up more holes for AD.thatguy wrote:Don't care what kinda stats you show me about him...AP has proven one thing time and time again through his career - don't doubt him.
Here's an interesting stat: Number of long passes for Ponder compared to number of long runs for AD since 2011.

Re: Peterson and his 2,500 yard goal.
So is it time to shut Peterson down for the season? He has an injured foot, has an injured groin, they have no playoff hopes. Time to let him rest and heal? I know he won't like it. What do you guys think?

I definitely say don't rush him back on the field, but if he's healthy again this season, let the man play. He is paid for a reason.Raptorman wrote:So is it time to shut Peterson down for the season? Re: Peterson and his 2,500 yard goal.
Hell no! He still has a shot at the rushing title. Tape him up, shoot him up, give him the rock and let the pieces fall where they may. These things are important in Minnesota. They don't win playoff games, so #### like player of the week, ROY, Pro Bowl appearances, random stats titles are all that Vikings fans have to crow about when a season ends.
Re: Peterson and his 2,500 yard goal.
In that case, I have one more random stat title we have a shot at ... AD is only 271 yards short of having the most rushing yards after a 2k yard season.Eli wrote:Hell no! Re: Peterson and his 2,500 yard goal.
Now THERE is a stat well worth going after. Just give him the damned ball. He doesn't need two good feet to get only 271 yards in three games. Whatever happens, he cannot finish fourth on that list or people might claim that he's only the fourth best running back ever.Reignman wrote:In that case, I have one more random stat title we have a shot at ... Re: Peterson and his 2,500 yard goal.
I would really like to see him pass that d-bag CJ. And he'd fall just short of Dickerson again if he's shutdown for the season.

Re: Peterson and his 2,500 yard goal.
Not yet. He and Gerhart both sat out practice though. Gerhart more likely to play but even he's not a lock. I would think they shutdown AD at least for this week.Purple Jesus wrote:Has he been ruled out for the game yet or no?

Let's put Webb in the backfield.
