Doesn't matter, Jefferson retaliated and thats what the refs saw because it was more obvious.

I agree Jefferson should not have retliated, but look at the replay. The ref was right there and saw the WHOLE play including the actions of Weems. he should have flagged Weems before it ever got to that point, or at least call penalties on both.
