Mauti's a pretty decent backer. Maybe not much more than Cole, but I'll take it.
Bond is a pretty big guard, if nothing else.

If he wasnt so injury hampered/prone he'd be great. First pick I dont like so much.

See. We pair them up now. Two PSU linebackers. Two UCLA guys. Two Florida guys.John_Viveiros wrote:Got to be Tennessee State or Penn State. We only have one of those drafted each so far. We pair up our picks now.

I'm liking these later round picks. Two PSU linebackers? Booyah!

I'm not a big fan. Loved the Baca pick. This one not so much.
Height and tendency to play with high pad level cause him to give ground at times, especially when he's slow to get his hands up. Defenders can get their hands into his chest and pop off to make plays at the line. Leans and bends at the waist, relying on his length to push away defenders instead of moving his sometimes-heavy feet. Must prove he can come off the ball quick and low, tends to raise up on contact to allow opponents to slip past him. Pass pro awareness is inconsistent, will fail to keep his eyes moving to find late blitzers. Can be out-quicked in space, as well as defenders attacking plays before he gets his body moving behind the line off the snap.

He's big, that's about it. He also had trouble when he let his weight creep up to 370, so that's not good either. But he's a really big dude, no doubt about it.John_Viveiros wrote: After reading the NFL description

And this 7th round linebacker sounds like a good one. But three knee surgeries? He's lucky to be drafted at all.saint33 wrote:Linebacker U

Jax, I should have known. No wonder that organisation is all a mess.saint33 wrote: I'm talking about Bryan Anger, the punter the Jaguars picked in the 3rd round last year
A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

Yep, tore his ACL in both knees. Thankfully, medical science has come a long way.DanAS wrote: And this 7th round linebacker sounds like a good one. But three knee surgeries? He's lucky to be drafted at all.

As a Penn State student Im loving the fact that the viking drafted Mauti and Hodges. Mauti is a leader and a beast hopefully he can stay healthy. Mauti would probably be a second round pick if it wasnt for the knee injuries he sustained in his college career. Loving the picks Speilman! both Hodges and Mauti bring huge upside
