2016 NFL Draft thread

Post by dead_poet »

Weatherly ran a 4.61-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, and put up 23 repetitions on the bench press. He stands 6-foot-4 and boasts 34 1/2-inch arms; he's next in the mold of shape-shifting rushers like Everson Griffen, Anthony Barr and Danielle Hunter. He's going to need some work in the NFL, particularly as he shifts to defensive end, but his size and speed fit squarely in the range of the players the Vikings are trying to collect. They'll see if they can mold him into another successful pass-rusher.

My only let down in the draft is that the vikings didn't draft a punter. I hate Locke so much. I am not biased or anything because I am not a ndsu bison fan. But, I do live in fargo and it would be worth it for the Vikings to bring in Ben lecompte. He is a great punter, field goal kicker, and kickoff guy.

Spielman on UDFA: Trying to pinpoint the best available but said this year was difficult bc of the great depth on current roster..

Spielman: #Vikings new OL coach Tony Sparano helped pinpoint 4th-rd pick Willie Beavers. Projects him as guard initially.

Spielman says Kearse fell because of inconsistencies, he didn't run as fast as he would've hoped. Praises unique length and stride.

How unusual was scouting process with Moritz Boehringer? #Vikings' first -- and to date, only -- game film of him is from YouTube clips.

Oh really? Not the guy who only allow a 25% catch rate all season? Or, what, two TDs at most?

PFF just needs to die a slow and painful death. FOH with that analysis. I love the Kearse pick, but I guarantee you there is no way Kearse graded out better than Alexander.

I hope the Vikings at least try and invite tom Hackett. I'm sure plenty of others will though
