Hoping this will be a wakeup call for unvaccinated players. Granted we do not know the status of these players, but the protocols are less restrictive for the vaccinated. There is plenty of time for players to complete the two vaccine series before the season starts.808vikingsfan wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 4:38 pm https://www.nfl.com/news/vikings-qb-kel ... k-cousins-

Much less restrictive. Listen to Zimmer describing the difference between vaccinated and nonvaccinated. IMO, i'd sit all players that refuse to be vaccinated. You can't be the best team you can be not being present for meetings, etc..VikingTom wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 4:45 pmHoping this will be a wakeup call for unvaccinated players. Mond is vaccinated & may return in 48 hrs with two negative tests. Cousins is apparently not vaccinated.

Was Mond already vaccinated or did he get the vaccination after testing positive. If he already had the vaccination why did he test positive.VikingTom wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 6:42 pm808vikingsfan wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 4:52 pm

You can still test positive if you're vaccinated. The body is more equipped to fight if vaccinated.VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 8:23 pmWas Mond already vaccinated or did he get the vaccination after testing positive. Big opportunity for Browning, heard he played well. Stanley is the biggest loser is all of this, he’ll be out of a job soon, hope it was worth it.

Because Cousins is not vaccinated and was exposed, he'll have to quarantine for 5 days. 10 if he returns a positive test.VikingTom wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 6:42 pm808vikingsfan wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 4:52 pm

Video breakdown of Browning from last night. I've been telling people I wouldn't be surprised if he's our #2 this season and it's looking like he's the favorite now.

If Cousins still refuses to take the vaccine, I'd put Brownining at QB1.VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 11:14 am Video breakdown of Browning from last night. I've been telling people I wouldn't be surprised if he's our #2 this season and it's looking like he's the favorite now.

Baffles me that the leaders of this team are so selfish They are showing the team isn't first. How can they expect to lead this team? Smith, Thielen. Cousins... This team has a chance to fall apart.

Yeah I get what you mean. Even if he feels it's the wrong thing for him to do he should suck it up and take one for the team.
Re: Vikings QB Kellen Mond test positive for COVID; three QBs including Kirk Cousins expected to miss practice
Being on a pro team is a job. No different than any other job. I'm sure for the majority there family comes first before the job. Some have refused the vaccine and the rules are in place for those that choose that path. Apparently Mond was vaccinated and he was infected. There are rules in place for that situation. Browning has the same flaws he has always had and one of them is a below average NFL arm. Let's see how he functions in a game before making him No1. This team can fall apart for many reason. Having a below average OL certainly won't pull them together. Having a defense not playing well won't pull them together either. They need to find out how Mond was infected. If a center gave it to him then that sets up a chain of events. Many players on both sides of the ball get close to the center.808vikingsfan wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 4:21 pmIf Cousins still refuses to take the vaccine, I'd put Brownining at QB1.VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 11:14 am Video breakdown of Browning from last night. I'll tell you what's not "leading" - having to sit out 2 weeks because you're exposed to COVID and not vaccinated as opposed to 5 days. One outcome is potentially missing 2 games, another outcome is potentially missing zero.VikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 5:17 pmIs following the crowd getting the vaccine leading?808vikingsfan wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 4:21 pm

Take all the political garbage out of getting the vaccine and there are many pure football reasons why players should get vaccinated based on the NFL's new COVID procedures - especially some of our most important players (Cousins, Thielen, Smith).
Whenever these dudes put on a helmet they risk so many short-term and long-term health issues yet they're taking a stand against a vaccine that has more FDA approval than tattoo ink. Even if they don't want the mRNA vaccine, which is I guess more controversial, go get the more traditional JJ shot.
I hope none of them get COVID (and all of them get vaccinated), but none of them should be captains for our team in the future.

Reality. And it's just going to get worse.
The unvaccinated are either not informed (and have no interest in changing that) or not rational. It really boils down to that.
I'll say this - if the players don't want to get vaccinated, fine, but if a player doesn't get vaccinated and ends up sitting out due to COVID protocols, he doesn't get paid. First time out, he forfeits the pro-rated proportion of his salary for the 14 days he's out. If it happens again, he forfeits double that amount. A 3rd time, triple. Etc, etc...
There has to be a cost for this behavior that reflects the impact on others. If the unvaccinated are forced to consider that cost when making their decision, they might make a different decision.
So Kirk, you just punted 2 weeks worth of your mega deal out the window. Your selfish choice cost the team. Still don't want to get vaccinated? Next time you'll punt a month's worth.

I don't get your reply to my comment. My first line was obviously a joke with the shock face and the next line saying that getting the Vaccine regardless of seeing any value in it for team unity was leadership.TSonn wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 11:53 amI'll tell you what's not "leading" - having to sit out 2 weeks because you're exposed to COVID and not vaccinated as opposed to 5 days. Where are you getting the 2 week layoff for Kirk from. I've heard 5 days. Is this an update?
