It sure looks like he enjoys it too much and I'm beginning to wonder if other GMs see him as an "easy mark", a GM who will rarely say no if they want to move up to the Vikings spot.

After this year his nickname of Trader Rick might morph into Gigolo Rick or Rick The Tramp or ... nevermind.

I went to a Lions game years ago and saw this guy wearing a great t-shirt

It showed their entire schedule from a previous year, including the Preseason, with the result of each game. they were 4-0 in preseason and 0-16 in the regular season.

and above the schedule was 1 sentence:

"Detroit Lions....winning when it counts"

There are a lot of reasons for trading down. From listening to various post draft press conferences, a team can be looking for a certain position, and have their eyes on someone who they think will be able to grab with a lower pick, or they may have a number of players rated as more or less equal and figure they can wait a little bit, or they might think that the players left at a certain place are not going to be good enough to make the team. Plus, the draft is so unpredictable that it is better to have more picks. Every year there are first round picks who bomb, so that would mean the later rounds are even less predictable, odds of getting someone who makes the team are just better with more picks.

For what this is worth, at this place they've give all of the Vikings picks a B rating. There is a drop down at the top of the page that lets you filter by team.
