Corner being one of them, Tackle, WR too.
Get a developmental pass rusher in the later rounds, someone like orchard
I dont necessarily see tackle as a need. Guard is what our big need is on the line IMO. There isn't a chance we let Kalil go this season and personally, I want to see how good he is with a good guard next to him. That's why Scherff would be a great pick. Because if we needed him for some reason at tackle....he can play there. He's not a guy like Peat who is strictly an offensive tackle.

I really like Scherff too, I do think he's worth the 11th pick.
What are everyone's thoughts on Stanford DB Alex Carter?

I wanna see what he can do with Byron Jones, the combine warrior of 2015.
What position do you guys envision Gregory playing in Zimmer's D?

DE just needs to put on some weight, and add a couple more pass rushing moves.
He's perfect for a 3-4 though, but I know Zimmer could find a good way to use him in our 4-3.

I don't know about his ability to play in space, I haven't watched a ton of him yet, but if he can't transition to 3-4 LB I'm worried he might be a "tweener", although it seems fewer players get stuck in that in-between space with all the hybrid defenses these days.

He's under 230 pounds from what I read though, so im not convinced he can make the cut at DE in the NFL. Also, his game doesn't look like a great fit for the scheme we ran last year. We need a DE who can collapse the pocket. that's the foundation of the pass rush in this system. A redshirt guy like Crichton is probably a better DE prospect for us than Gregory.

Having said all that, he's clearly a great athlete. If he can transition to OLB I would be really excited about the pick.

He's said it's easy for him to gain weight. If he can play at 250-260, he'll be fine at DE. Although he does admit that he thinks his best fit is at 3-4 edge-rushing LB.

Of course one has to ask, what else would he say at this point? He's entering a draft process where his ability to bulk up directly effects his value.

If its easy for him to gain weight, why is he playing at 230, and reportedly walking around at 215 after the season?

From the tape I have seen, I don't see a big end who can collapse the pocket. I see an extremely athletic DE with tremendous bend who gets around the guy in front of him. Trouble is, that doesn't seem to be what a DE in this system is asked to do.

He could turn into that guy or he could be athletic enough to play OLB. If they take him I will assume they have a plan for him or see some strengths in him that will translate well to what they want to do.

If we can pick up a LG in free agency and both White and Cooper are gone .. which I think they might
be

Danny Shelton really impressed me .. I think he will be an all pro DT in the NFL.

Fowler was very impressive as well

White WR will be gone and Cooper might be too

I highly doubt that all three of those receivers are gone with the first 10 picks. Besides Cooper, who is miles better than Parker or White (IMO), I would not use a 1st round (11) pick on either of them. I like the Shelton idea although DL is down my list of needs.

have to go wr if Cooper or Parker available. Teddy needs a "true number one". I don't like white, screams bust to me and can see the raiders taking him. If white is only top wr available hopefully a Waynes out of MSU is still on the board. Matched with Xavier they would have the best young corner duo in the league no questions asked. If something crazy happens and danny Shelton drops I think he is a must draft, he is going to be a dominant dt in this league. The only guys Id take with 11th pick are Cooper, Parker, Shelton, Waynes. I hope they fill the guard spot with a proven veteran. Of course, all of this is dependent on FA.

IMO White and Cooper are a virtual tie ...

Cooper is a better route runner now but White is bigger and a scapper for the ball IMO

Shelton IMO is going to be like Ngata DT from the Ravens a total force inside ...

The giants one two superbowl's with great defensive lines... A defensive line that is very very dominant
makes up for a lot on secondary and linebackers
