I totally disagree with the notion that we have other more pressing needs than QB......We have NO QB...None.....just proven failures that are cast offs from other teams. We have SOME DB's, WR, and Secondary talent......at QB...NOTHING.....without a passing threat AP will have an "OK" season, without a QB our young talented WRs are useless. Without a QB our D will get exhausted spending 80% of the game on the field...I have already seen that circus the last 2 yrs. I have had enough of that bad joke.

I am in complete agreement with this. How many Journeyman Quarterbacks are we gonna have? When was the last time we had a Franchise Quarterback? Drafting a Quarterback should be the vikings #1 Priority. When your coach has to call timeouts because your defense is too winded, you know you have a serious problem.

i agree with you both. we have no franchise Qb and we haven't had one since culpepper. If we do pass on a Qb at 8 then we better be prepared to trade up into the late 1st and take the best Qb left whether its Carr, Mett, or someone else.

That's usually an indication that there's a problem on defense (ie: the defense can't stop the opposition and get themselves off the field).

Many of us who have watched Teddy (and I include myself with most of the experts in this) say teddy played better when there was some type of pressure on him, or pressure with timng routes. That's why he was the #1 pick and #1 QB picked for most of the year. The pro day comes along, teddy sucked (JFB looked good, but the expert say hes still dropping too) and now some think hes going to be there at 40? He is just too good to slip that far. When his biggest flaw is that he doesn't have enough 'bulk' to him, he is worth the 8th pick. Just like what we thought when we were winning all those 'worthless' games.

I guess im just going to have to stop watching NFL Network and ESPN altogether. And reading online reviews. They don't have anything new to say, so they make stuff up, and the 1 really good QB could slip till RD3. And they still have jobs?

Even the JFB fans here have seemed to think we need to settle for a player on the D side of the ball. How do we know we are going to get another pick in the top 10 for the next 10 years? We could be that mid range draft for years to come.

I'm alright with Teddy, just don't want Carr in the first. Assuming Watkins drops you simply do not pass on that sort of talent. We already gave Detroit Fairley to go with Suh, I don't want to see Watkins next to Johnson.

That would have been cool, though:

Nefarious Tavarious comes to mind as a nickname had he only been named "Tavarious"

Defense cannot maintain when they are on the field as much as the vikings D was last year. How many of the games last year did we lose simply because the coaches went to cover 2 in the final minutes? Our coaches made flat out horrible calls on D, it wasn't until the second half of the season did the vikings start actually adjusting defensive play calling. Crap like this wont happen under Zimmer. All this talk about the vikings not taking a QB in the first round is all smoke screen, they have someone in mind, if they are there at 8 they will take them.

As I said before If mack is there at 8 I think the vikes pull the trigger on him over a QB. Trading back may be difficult as well, you need another team to want the number 8 pick and this draft class is deep. I believe the vikings pull the trigger on a QB, its long overdue.

That is NOT his biggest "flaw". And there is a reason why he has dropped so far among the consensus.
A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

He was not that long ago considered the #1 pick. Correct? And so much opinion of him has dropped to the point of a 2nd rounder. That's my point.
