Culpepper/Cunningham/George
Watch the highlights in this video where Cunningham, Culpepper, and George throw the ball. We haven't seen a QB with that kind of arm in years. I miss them for sure!!

Jeff George, best arm I have ever seen, too bad he couldn't put it all together, he could have been GREAT.

Re: Culpepper/Cunningham/George
Granted they all had very good arms but that offense was much more wide-open compared to anything we have had as of late. I hope our new OC spreads this offense out more

Cunningham was the best of the 3, but Georges arm was far better out of the 3. He could effortlessly just lace it into a window. I was never a big Culpepper fan, total trash without Moss. It's why I wanted Brees drafted in 2001.Pondering Her Percy wrote:Granted they all had very good arms but that offense was much more wide-open compared to anything we have had as of late. This just makes me miss Randy Moss. The glory days of football in my mind...back when players could still have fun playing the game.

I concur, watching highlights of Moss in a Viking uniform gives me chills.thatguy wrote:This just makes me miss Randy Moss. The glory days of football in my mind...back when players could still have fun playing the game.

Gee, do you think that was a factor?80 PurplePride 84 wrote: And, you know, if his knee wasn't torn to pieces.
Culpepper was always a player some fans loved to hate. I don't know why.

I hear you. I miss Daunte a lot. I still think he had the best year ever for a Vikings QB and was definitely one of the most talented QBs the team ever fielded.

I couldn't agree more. I hope the new OC takes better advantage of the WR talent with more 3WR and 4WR sets.
Of course, that means a much better QB is needed and I hope that happens as well.
Re: Culpepper/Cunningham/George
Warren Moon was my favorite good arm and good team leader .. to have him for his whole career; the Vikings would have some rings

I never understood it either. I for one was mad as one could be when Childress shipped him out the door. Culpepper should have been the MVP in 2004, Manning just happened to toss 48 TDs that year. Culpepper wasn't perfect, but he doesn't deserve the hate either. Daunte is a Viking legend, one of my favorites, and it is too bad his legacy is what it is.Mothman wrote: Gee, do you think that was a factor?

A Randy Moss fan for life. A Kevin Williams fan for life.

Daunte was amazing. Probably the most talented Vikings quarterback ever and the only franchise quarterback in my lifetime. He also happened to be a really likeable guy and was incredibly fun to watch. Even when he was on Patriots, Daunte was always someone Moss spoke highly off. He seemed like a great leader and was a pretty great competitor.
It's unfortunate what happened to him after the knee injury but also our management. We had what could have gone down as one of the most prolific quarterback-wide receiver combos in history but decided to break it up. Then we sucked and Pep got injured and here we are.

Re: Culpepper/Cunningham/George
Ahhh the good old days......
One thing that struck me while watching these were the surprising number of plays with Moss catching the ball across the middle. Granted it was just a highlight video but went across the middle A LOT in those highlights.
Maybe it was just selective sampling in the video.....or maybe years of media bashing Moss for never going over the middle has distorted my memory....I don't know.
Either way, that video nearly brought a tear to my eye....hahahahaha, thanks for posting!!!!!!!!
