Re: Steelers vs. Vikings
Here's the thing, just when the team looks the worst it could possibly be and we're going to get destroyed by the steelers and we're well on our way to 0-16. I bet we blow them out and absolutely dominate them.
There's no scientific theory to it, no analysis, and nothing that says so or makes any sense but that's what I'm thinking. This team is just way to inconsistent to be so consistently bad for 3 weeks. Ponder's sucked for 3 games too so I figure the 1 for 4 theory should come into effect as well. He'll give us that glimmer of "hey, who the hell is this guy lighting it up at QB" for just long enough to get the win.
maybe...

Re: Steelers vs. Vikings
Right about the time a change to Cassel or MBT and waving the white flag on the season would make sense.
In comes Ponder, heroics with his feet for first downs and touchdowns, 300 yard, 3 passing touchdowns...
"Who is that caped crusader!"
Just to perfectly sabotage the team by going 12/23 123 yards, 2 picks and a fumble after the bye.

If Hoyer can get 300+ yards and 3 TDs against our D, then Big Ben and his receivers will rip us to shreds. 0-4 is looking a us right in the face.
I'd say it's a safe bet that it will be Ponder's last game as the Vikings starting QB.
Chances are, we will get the "good" Ponder. And you will be wrong.

Re: Steelers vs. Vikings
I just don't see it guys. They are going to be extra-motivated to avoid 0-4 as well and they are a good enough coaching staff to exploit the myriad of flaws our team has. When was the last time you can say the Vikings staff outcoached the opponent? I honestly can't recall and this won't be one of those games either. LeBeau and that defense are too savvy and they will give the Vikings fits. The jury is still out on their OC Haley though but it won't matter because Roethlisberger will be able to move the ball at will against our laid-back pass defense.
This season is starting to feel a lot like 2011 (Frazier's first full year as HC) when they started 0-4 and everyone was already questioning if Frazier was the right guy. Remember those games? Gut-wrenching Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde performances. Games the Vikings "should have won" but didn't. Harvin opened the season with a KR TD but everything went down the crapper after that. Same kinda feeling as these first three games this season. Last year is looking like a complete fluke and a team that overachieved.

Re: Steelers vs. Vikings
The Vikings have two chances to win this game. Slim and none. Slim ran off with the teacup. If Ponder struggles again, Frazier should sit him down. There has been enough consensus on Ponder to form a certain opinion.

Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.

they sent the two worst teams to london. it no longer benefits this team long term if ponder pulls a brilliant performance out of his a**, it only delays the inevitable.

Re: Steelers vs. Vikings
The team who needs the most work will most likely lose this game. This is going to be a week of distractions, so with all the problems the Vikings have, this might be ugly. This isn't going to be a nose to the grindstone practice week.

Re: Steelers vs. Vikings
The Steelers aren't poorly coached. They've proven that in past seasons. They have a very inexperienced offensive line that lost its best player in center Maurkice Pouncey. They were without TE Heath Miller until he saw limited action this last game. They have a defense that hasn't recorded a single turnover this season. If Le'Veon Bell can get their running game on track, it will open things up for Roethlisberger, who won't have to force things and they should be able to cut down on their turnovers.JEC334 wrote:The two worst coached teams in football going head to head.
