I have a feeling the play was supposed to stop where Burton was but who knows. He didn't put any effort into it when the bakll was in the air..

Hard to say. It would have been a nice slant pass though if Burton would have kept running...

For all the Ponder haters wondering why he doesn't trust his receivers, Burton just killed his route as the hot read slant... As many plays as Burton has made this preseason that one is going to stand out as a huge negative. You don't do that if you want to play in the NFL...

Collingsworth tried to blame that on Burton but if he continues the pattern, the throw would have led him directly into the oncoming LB who would have taken his head off. Ponder should have recognized that and IMO the ball should not have been thrown into that coverage.

You'll recall that Burton almost got killed reaching for an overthrown sideline pass in the 1st quarter... cuts both ways.
